Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne staff was homophobic and can't address transgenders properly. Although I didnt call him out for it but as a worker they should be trained to address transgender people based on their preference or even how guess dress up. Even if its against their will. At the end of the day they are workers and customers paid for their stay to be treated right. But this wasnt a big deal for me really its just that if I was the owner of the hotel, I will train my workers to treat customers right not just for their stay but for them to feel respected. However the housekeeping lady did an excellent job. When we got back in our room in the afternoon after a very long walk around Venice, she did tidy our room very well and on top of my bed, she laid my burberry scarf nicely making the room looked luxurious!
Perfect location ,although can be noisy at night due the window is next to the main street were people passes by.

United KingdomVery small bathroom- barely any room for legs if you were sat on the loo. Shower door didn’t close properly so water all over the bathroom.
Friendly welcome and central location with breakfast with a view of a canal with gondolas passing.

SwitzerlandThe mattresses are saggy. The rooms, especially bathrooms are not clean. The shower cabin didn’t close, there was a huge damage through water on the ceiling.
The location is great. The room had a lot of natural light. The view from the breakfast room is nice.

Hotel is located in a great place, close to everything. Can be reached from couple of piers without bridges. Breakfast was OK, good choices. Comfortable room with plenty of space.

United KingdomThe halls and reception area are quite dark and dingey. Our room was right next to the stairs on the first floor so you could hear everyone coming up and down the stairs at all times in the morning and night. I understand that Venice is unbelievably expensive but I do feel like the hotel was pretty poor quality for what I spent. - The light switch in the bathroom was half taped over with electrical tape which seemed pretty hazardous - The handle of the shower was hanging off - I was pretty worried everytime I touched the handle whether or not the handle would come off completely. - The shower door didn't seal, so it flooded the bathroom floor everytime the shower was running. - You had to be gentle with everything - I almost pulled the socket out of the wall when trying to simply unplug my charger because it wasn't solidly fixed on. - One of the wardrobe doors was broken - a large chunk of wood had come off it and it hadn't been fixed. - The carpet had a lot of stains on it. - No Wi-Fi - We were landed with a city tax on check-out that we weren't previously aware of which was cash only - we almost missed our bus to the airport because we spent ages trying to find a cash machine nearby. If we had known on check-in, we could have been more prepared. Pretty surprised that they didn't take card for that.
The room was comfortable and relatively quiet, although I do feel like it needs a bit of a refresh.

United KingdomBreakfast could have been more interesting (maybe some eggs). TV kept cutting out. No remote in the room (eventually found next door) but the receptionist didn't believe us. Booking.com said there was a bar but there isn't (but lots of bars nearby).

Hotel Alcyone's location, exactly mid-distance between St. Mark's and Rialto, is unbeatable! Staff was always friendly and helpful. They serve a nice continental breakfast, in a room with a big window facing a canal where you can see the gondolas pass by.

SlovakiaOur shower lacked a door which was a bit of a nuisance considering that we had to scrub the bathroom floor each time we took a shower. The only amenity provided was shampoo in a plastic bag, which did not meet our expectation. The breakfast provided a scarce selection of breads and pastries, however, it was continuously replenished throughout the morning.
The location of the accommodation was superb, right in the heart of the city and all major sights just a few minutes of walking distance. The room was quite small but sufficient for a short stay with plenty of storage space for 2 people. The staff was accommodating and helpful.
