We experienced some problems: The microwave and the oven/cooker did not work and there were no instructions. Also the knobs on the cooker had no numbers or dials as they had worn away. We telephoned the manager who laughed and told us that microwaves and cookers are easy to use. He sent two people to check but we were correct, neither the microwave nor the cooker were working. When the man unplugged the cooker from the wall, the socket broke, the fuse blew and everything went dark. The man fixed it at the fuse box. A lady took our microwave food away, cooked it elsewhere and returned it to us to eat. The next day a new microwave was installed, with instruction booklet, but we did not use it. The cooker was still broken. The lights in the dining area flashed brightly when they were turned off. The manager told us that this is because LED bulbs are fitted in a non-LED light fitting. The bright flashing lights were very annoying at night so we had to remove the bulbs in order to sleep. It is not possible to close the bedroom door if you want AC as the AC unit is outside in the living space. Overall, we enjoyed the building and the old frescoes on the ceiling of the suite but unfortunately the response to problems was disappointing as the manager laughed at us and did not believe things were not working. Also he did not apologise once for the problems we encountered.

The English breakfast was excellent and is delivered to the room free as there is no dining room. The suite was very spacious. The building is old and very atmospheric. It is around 10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town so is very convenient. The suite was very clean. The morning staff and cleaners were very pleasant.

Great appartment in historic palazzo, renovated with much taste and feel for the history, well equipped. Lovely breakfast delivered to the room, including fruit skewer, yoghurt, toast and more nice things. Coffee was not to highest Italian standards, but ok, and tea and water kettle were available in the kitchen. Quiet room, big bathroom, 10 minutes leisurely walk to city centre. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Cool, space and charm in the heart of the city

A fifteenth century house, hidden behind a huge wooden gate in a blind wall; the gate opens onto an absolutely delightful courtyard, full of trees and flowers, a shady place to leave the car in the heart of the city. A vast, airy apartment, simply furnished, exceptionally comfortable beds, a little kitchen area, everything you could desire. Delicious breakfast brought to the room: lots of fruit, yoghurt, pastries, coffee. I could have stayed there for a week. Oh, and no mosquitoes, always a plus in Ferrara!

Parking has to be paid for.

Nice old style place in the center within easy walking distance of the main attractions, shops and bars. Quiet out of town feel, very private with good facilities for a family.

Wonderful host (Enrico), big spacious room, comfortable (firm) bed, excellent location that was 5 min on food from the Castello but was in a very quiet part of town.

Fabulous location, combining the pleasure of being in local residential area but only a few minutes walk into the centre
