Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe streets in this area were very dirty. The main hall where the stairs and mail boxes are was horrible looking. Also if you want to have some kind of privacy, this is not something for you. The owner lives in this apartment, so you will just get a room and walls are thin so you can hear everything.
The room was nice and everything was clean. We also had a small balcony. The room was close to city centre. The owner didn't really speak english but she was very welcoming and really tried to understand and give us some tips.

PolandIt was very cold, as the room had no heating. If you're traveling in winter, bring a thermophore or something...
We were susprised how good the place was for such a low price. The location was great - city center, very close to the central railway station, but not on the main street, which made the place quiet and comfy, with a unique atmosphere. The room was big and clean, the beds were very comfortable, we even had a balcony where I could hang my towel to dry (There were also towels provided) and the balcony had a nice view of a quaint Italian neighbourhood. + there are a lot of nice cafes in the area, as well as other facilities.

SwitzerlandWe heard the garbage truck at 2 a.m. (!) at night on weekends, but seeing all the rubbish in the streets garbage collection doesn't happen too often in this city (this is true for all districts, unfortunately).
Perfect starting point to explore the city and Pompei (direct! train from Porta Nolana), close to central train station (10 min walk), and to the port (20 - 30 min walk) Big room with very comfy bed (new matress, I guess). The owner (a kind lady from Ukraine) even cleaned our room every day, very attentive. The two other rooms are also rented, so the owner shares her appartment with 3 other parties. If you stick to the house rules (closing doors quietly), you will get along very well. Being polite, you shouldn't block the bathroom or kitchen for too long as you share it with ca. 5 people If you have had enough of pizza/pasta, try the Bangladeshi/Indian food stalls and incredible variety of fresh fruit/veggies on the market in the Bangladeshi neighbourhood (around the corner). "Secret" hint: catacombe di Napoli, best site to visit off the very beaten path, ask your host for more info. We had sun all day long and 15- 20 deg celsius in october:)

AustriaOne small thing to be aware of is that the bathroom is shared with other guests, so it is not always immediately available ;-)
Very kind and attentive owner. She welcomed us very warmly and was always eager that everything is clean and our questions were answered. The location is perfect to reach all the important points quickly and easily. A few steps from the appartement is a supermarket. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back when we are in Naples again :-)

TurkeyLandlady was quite RUDE. This place is NOT RECOMMENDED!!! First of all she doesnt know a single word of English, but it was our least problem. We stayed there for 2 days with my mom, as 2 ladies. The key that she gave to us never opened the entrance door. Whenever we go outside or come back to the room, it doesnt matter what time it is she always awake and kinda waiting for us to go to our room. Whenever we are out in our own rooms balcony since it is shared with her room, she always finds an excuse to come to balcony, "as a coincidance (!)" It was really disturbing, no privacy that she will give to you. Bathroom door lock was broken so they put a component on the door to make it close, locked. So it is impossible without using it to lock the door. So we always locked that component. One time she forced my mom and me to go to bathroom, she also came inside and locked to door after us, we were so surprised like what she was trying to do, locking and holding us in the bathroom. I could literally sue her if we didnt have limited time there. And since she doesnt know English she was yelling in Italian, trying to say we have to lock that component and hold it while opening. Like bro you have to do it ofc if you dont want to pee in public. Our stay was literally a nightmare because of her.
The location was okay, not bad. It is a bit far away from the center on foot and it is not close to the airport.

NorwayNothing actually. Be informed that this is not Bed & Breakfast, but only Bed (the nearest grocery store locates just 10 meters from the apartment).
I was suppoed to stay at B&B Appartmenti Napoli with my friend, but ended up to be there alone due to an incident. Tanya was so welcoming and attentive so that I felt tremendous amount of safety and warmth while staying in a clean and spacious room with high ceiling and a balcony. I was allowed to make coffee, use her fridge for cooling a bottle of water and breakfast, had everything I needed incl. freshly washed towels, shampoo, body soap and a hair dryer. I had no TV, but had excellent wifi in my room, which was most important for me. Tanya was so kind to let me leave my luggage in the appartment after the checkout as well. Thanks to her, I could effectively enjoy my stay in Naples until the very last minute. The appartemt constrtcion is solid, so as the walls. The only thing Tanya was asking me is to be careful about the door noise. I don´t understand why people make a big deal of it. It´s a commen sense especially in densely populated places like this. I enjoy living like a neapolitan in this vibrant and central neighbourhood for a few days. It almost felt like home as well. I would love to come back when I´m in Naples again.
