How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewWe loved this place. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the views over Tuscan wineries and hills. It was a steep but short walk into town, we wouldn’t have wanted to be any further nor closer. The people running it were very accomodating, and of all the places we ate at while here, our favourite meals were served on site.

Verified reviewGreat views of San Gimignano, 15 minute walk to the town from the property. Parking provided. Great pool and terrace. The staff can't do enough for you, very friendly with great breakfast. The evening meal that they do twice a week would definitely recommend absolutely delicious.
Nothing really, if I was being picky another mirror in the bedroom as the only mirror was in the bathroom so was waiting to use it .

Verified reviewThis property is a family run business. Carla, Andrea and Francesco were all so nice and accomodating. This 6 room B&B was one of the best holidays I have ever experienced. The wine the dinners by the pool on a Tuesday and Thursday. The lunches were amazing. Pool was fantastic 10/10 for this property. I would highly recommend this place and one day return. Very blessed to have met this incredible family.

dearest Marilyn, at check in you were informed that it is not possible to drink your own drinks in the pool and you continued to drink your own drinks. It was not pressure to buy drinks it was a kind way to point out that you could not drink yours also because if there is a service you do not use it and you complain if you are asked if you want something to drink, while the wifi which is free and works very well, you are immediately ready to complain (perhaps because you are not very capable of using it)... I wonder, if there was no bar service in the pool maybe you would have complained??!!!.... who knows... why send emails if we are always close to you asking if you want a drink???!!!.....4 people are always present in the structure.

Verified reviewThis family run accommodation and location of Ponte a Nappo is brilliant if you want to stay in or near San Gimignano. It is just outside the town, approx 1km, and you have a great view of the town and across a great expanse of Tuscan countryside. The town gets very busy with day visitors so it's great to have accommodation slightly away from the crowds during the day but easily accessible for evenings when it's much quieter. The swimming pool and its location is an excellent quiet oasis with views of the town. The B&B accommodation works well with a good variety for breakfast. They also do optional lunches plus evening meals a couple of nights of the week which we very much enjoyed. The family are alway busy doing something as it's also a working farm for grapes and olives!
A few things didn't work properly such as the shower head raiser kept lowering so we had to position it very carefully. We also mentioned the light build in the kitchenette wasn't working. These didn't get fixed during our 11 day stay. These are really minor issues in what was a very enjoyable stay at Ponte a Nappo.

Verified reviewIt was honestly outstanding. Beautiful setting, the whole place (including pool) spotlessly clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature. Our baby loved the chickens too! The staff there are truly brilliant and the room is cleaned every day. Final huge plus - the food is exceptional with home made pasta and fresh salads.
