How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe breakfast may have been my second favorite part of my trip (second to the stunning beaches). Talia was very kind and attentive. The pictures on Booking.com don’t do this place justice. We just had the most amazing time there. 100% recommend.

Verified reviewEven more beautiful than it looked online! One of our favourite stays so far. Loved the view, location, gorgeous town, huge homemade breakfast, Madhu's lovely warm energy, comfortable beds and sea breeze from the balcony and windows. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewWe loved the location close to the beautiful town square and also a short walk to the beach. Madhu was a wonderful host, preparing us a delicious breakfast each day and making us feel like it was our home. She is a very talented artist too, we loved her watercolor paintings!
The location, the cute decor and the incredible view. We also loved the terrace over looking the sea and the close proximity to everything. It was actually much more beautiful than we we prepared for!

Verified reviewThis property has probably the best view in Scopello. We really enjoyed staying there. The breakfast was a nice touch as it was homemade. The room was very clean and if you are missing something you could just ask.

Verified reviewThis B&B is absolutely stunning and the views from the balcony in our room were incredible. The breakfast was all homemade and super fresh. Also, the owner was so kind and drove our suitcases our car which was to the car park outside of the village when we were leaving. Would 100% return!

Verified reviewThis place was in a great location, only 3 minutes from the main town. The terrace, the breakfast and the view were absolutely stunning – definitely the highlight of the stay!
Just keep in mind that it’s a traditional B&B setup, so you’ll need to be quiet and respectful, as it’s part of someone’s home. It can feel a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to that, but if you don’t mind the vibe, it’s a lovely spot overall.

Verified reviewThe hostess was nice and helpfull. The room was nice and clean and there is a living room where you can hang out. The breakfast is very complete and fresh.
The only downside was that the roof terras with gorgeous view is part of one of the rooms and not available for all guests. (Althought the hostess let us chill there the day that the room was not occupied)

Verified reviewIt's right in the middle of Scopello. Breakfast is outside on the terrace with a lovely view. The breakfast was very good too.
The terrace is ONLY accessible during breakfast. If you enter it any other time, the neighbours come out to send you away. Our host offered us a free drink in a nearby restaurant as compensation, which was appreciated, but still, it was an unwelcome surprise - especially because our room had no real window (except a reaaaally high and small one, basement-like) so the bnb felt quite claustrophobic. Also, there was no-one when we wanted to check in (on the time we communicated in a timely manner), so we had to call and message and wait till someone came.

Verified reviewLocation, view, terrace, rooms, breakfast, ambience all excellent. Very quiet but great for centre of the village and 20 - 25 minute walk to the national park, 5 minute drive or so. Lovely view from our room and terrace.

Verified reviewVery cute apartment, nice room design, phenomenal view. Host thought about everything, if something is missing- just ask! We needed some cutlery to enjoy snacks in our room, next day it was provided. Best location to stay in Scopello
Bed not so comfortable. Breakfast was small. We are used to big breakfast, but I know that many people are happy with just croissant and coffee. We had a little bit of omelette, bit of cheese, bit of ham, bread, juice and coffee - every day was the same.

Verified reviewEverything was super, delicious breakfast, staff very kind and helpful. The view from their balcony, in addition to a very pleasant summer breeze is the best combo you can get during these hot summer days. One of the best property to stay; if you are looking for relax, beautiful Faraglioni’s view and proximity with shops. I believe is one of the most beautiful of the entire little Borgo.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was exceptional, served everyday on a terrace with sea view. The host is full of excellent recommendations for places to visit in the region and creates a warm, relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is clean, tastefully decorated and situated within easy walking distance of the main square. Really excellent and would highly recommend.
The beach is not so far as the crow flies, but down a steep hill which in the midday sun can be taxing to climb. It's very advantageous to have a car, making life much easier, though be ready to pay €5 - €7 to park it anywhere.

Horrible room. The worst in 2 weeks in Sicily. Opaque window and you can literally hear each word of your neighbours. When we asked for another room, we were told that the place was full which, we found out the next morning, was false. There is a fridge in the room but it's not working. The AC is capricious and it was either very warm or freezing cold...
if you had mentioned her problem to me I would have immediately explained how you should have done it: The refrigerator is working and it was enough to simply plug it in. The air conditioning works and it was enough to adjust the temperature to your liking. I always recommend speaking to the owner to ask for clarifications during your stay. Unfortunately, as I had already told her in person, the other rooms were already booked by Boking guests (I don't know what led her to think otherwise). in any case, if you really hadn't liked the room and if you had asked me, I would certainly have arranged to arrange it in another structure. Unfortunately, since you didn't tell me about it, I couldn't help you. Best regards, B&B Talia

Verified reviewThe location is a very short walk from the centre of "town", the facility is clean and well-managed. The views from the breakfast terrace are spectacular. The breakfast choices are good. The in-room facilities are good. The staircase might be a bit steep for the mobility-impaired, especially if carrying luggage.
Parking and vehicle access to the facility are restricted to 6am to 10am (this is outside the B&B's control), and local parking can be a challenge. The paid parking lot to the west of the restricted area is quite a walk if hauling luggage, I'd recommend the paid parking to the west of town, even though it is on the "far" side of Scopello (you'll have to spoof your GPS to guide you there). There is street parking on the east side that I used, but I got a ticket, in spite of there not being any signs indicating the area I parked was restricted to residents.
