Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWould not suit very elderly or disabled because of the stairs. No safe available which I would have preferred

ItalyThe facility was astonishingly close to the city center. Costantino and his family has hosted us as best as he could do, giving us a lot of information about the town and all the experiences we could do.

RomaniaIt's not negative, just a heads-up: the B&B is on the 2nd floor and you can only go up stairs without an elevator. The staff is very nice and offers help with carrying your luggage. Anyway, from what I have observed, most of the buildings in the old parts of the cities in Sicily are built like this. The room we had (suite Bellini) was with a kind of loft with stairs up to a double bed, with a small kitchen below. For 3 people, the space was quite tight, it didn't look like the space viewed on the website (for other rooms). Not that comfortable for storage and moving around. The only part we didn't like was the bad smell in the room and the sewer smell in the bathroom. They tried to alleviate it with a room freshener, but it still felt unpleasant. In the bathroom, it's probably because of a poorly made drain. It feels almost all the time, even though there is ventilation and an open window. I'm sure it's just our room, from what I've seen on the website the other rooms look better, I haven't heard of any problems.
Very friendly and nice staff! We arrived in Catania in the morning and were pleasantly surprised that we could stay right away! Really appreciate it a lot! I received all the information about Catania and its surroundings and made it easy to book a trip to Etna and Alcantara. It's on steps away from Catania's old town and attractions. We stayed 4 days and visited Catania, Etna, Noto and Syracusa with Ortigia. Although they had an Italian breakfast, I also had an omelette on the menu! Very good sanitary conditions, shower with pressure and hot water without problems. Clean towels, clean room and surroundings, air conditioning, all facilities, with a pleasant atmosphere, in the city center. Many thanks!

United KingdomVery noisy traffic on the street outside and quite fumey if the balcony was open. One of our rooms was next to the breakfast room so no chance of sleeping late! Difficult to park and drop off bags and lots of steps. The area is close to a bit of a rough neighbourhood.
Very friendly staff and a warm welcome. Peaceful little courtyard and some outside space which was nice. Great omelette for breakfast. Kettle in the room and a big fridge. Close to the centre of town.

United KingdomThe shower was absolutely tiny. Expensive for what it was.
The hotel was a quick walk from the train station and close to the historic centre. Just round corner from a beautiful piazza. Very close to bars, restaurants, etc. It was an ordinary room up a flight of stairs.

New ZealandThe surrounding area is quite sad, full of graffiti so looks like a grotto, but in saying this we felt pretty safe to walk every where. Poor old Catania needs some serious love. my only comment about the room is wear air plugs if your sensitive to traffic noise and bring your own soft pillow if you don’t like hard ones.
loved the old building High ceiling and of course Constantino was so kind and helpful.

GermanyNo complaints :)
The location is very close to the center, also close to the train station. The room was spacious, with big enough bathroom with good shower, all very clean. We got the room cleaned everyday. The owner and the staff were also very nice, they provided useful information on the sightseeing opportunities and they were very friendly.

United KingdomOur room was to the front of the building and this was extremely noisy, especially on Saturday! The whole room needs refreshing, quite a few marks on the walls and the shower needs replacing, had to use our flip flops as the tray was very stained.
The staff are very keen to assist and advise on where to eat / visit. Excellent breakfast at additional cost set in the courtyard a far cry from the noise out the front of the building. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily and location is near to the centre, less than a five minute walk.
