Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe apartment is in an excellent location for all of the sites. We loved the Monti area. Gina, the host, was brilliant and she went above and beyond to accommodate and welcome us. She even woke up with me at 3am to assist with getting a taxi back to the airport which was very kind. Thank you so much Gina! The beds were super comfortable which is just what you need after a day of walking around Rome. I would definitely recommend this place and would certainly stay again!

NetherlandsThe street was fairly quiet but the main street nearby had enough noise of traffic and rubbish collection throughout the night that we had to close the window in the early hours and use air conditioning, as otherwise it prevented sleep. But this worked fine. The bathroom door is not sound proof at all. I would have liked a central bathroom light as the mirror light was harsh. No breakfast is included despite the name but you know this from the start. You have a kettle and mini fridge.
Location excellent, we only had one day in Rome and we were able to get to central sites quickly on foot, even the Vatican was only about 30 mins walk as the furthest point (tip: get there early, at 08.30 we still had to queue for 1 hour to get in). Also it is quite close to Termini train station so that made arrival with heavy backpacks easy. For value for money, I thought very good as Rome is expensive. Area felt safe, and safer than closer to Termini. Great to use it as a base and have your own keys and come and go as you wish. Friendly host, thank you Gina! Shower good and warm which was welcome after a hot day of walking. They made up 2 single beds as requested which we appreciated as 2 friends. The icecream on the corner opposite Santa Maria Maggiore entrance was fantastic - especially melon and coffee flavours!

SpainGina was very welcoming and helpful. She gave us clear instructions and returned our messages very quickly. She was at the property when we arrived, even though we were early. She helped us with any questions we had about the property and the vicinity. We appreciated the free breakfast at a neighbourhood cafe that were very welcoming also.

United States of AmericaThe WiFi was out when we were there (which the host told us it was), but it did not cause any problems as we were not dependent on it.
The location was excellent and Gina was very friendly and helpful when needed. My spouse and I had 2 large suitcases and it was a smaller room, so it was cozy, but no complaints. Great price for the location!

FranceOur bedroom, located towards the court was very noisy in the morning as we could hear every person talking while going down the stairs. The shower doors barely closed.
The location is perfect, we went everywhere on foot, close to the colosseo and other touristic places

United States of AmericaI have no complaints. I had to work while in Rome (online), and another outlet would have been fantastic, but it was not a hardship at all.
Excellent location, walkable to many historic sites, close to public transit, in a real neighborhood. Lots of amenities -- food, markets, laundromat -- nearby. Room was very suitable for one person. Neighborhood was quiet. Gina is a welcoming host!

FranceA couple more electrical outlets would have been nice.
She was fully equipped in a B&B as if we were staying in a hotel. Including mini-fridge, biscuits & tea, very personal & professional at the same time. There was no breakfast on site, but she gave us a voucher for a cafe a few steps away for coffee & croissant. 4-euro 24-hour parking on the street basically at the door, at a parc-o-meter.

United KingdomRude and unwelcoming, save yourself the trouble! Never experienced such a bad customer service, left in a bad mood and uncomfortable. - Lateness My boyfriend and I got to the B&B at 6pm, we had to wait 20min for the host to arrive, not having any direction to the entrance or reception. We also couldn't find her at check-out. - Rudeness The host Gina greeted us without saying hello in a very unwelcoming manner, directly starting by stating that we had booked the room for 1 person only, which we admitted and apologized for because we had made an honest mistake. She then kept making passive-agressive comments saying that booking a hotel room was like booking a table at a restaurant, when making a booking for 2 persons. We kept apologizing and said we would pay for the difference, she then said she didn't want our money. She then asked to pay 2 city taxes for 2 people, which we agreed to pay in cash. She didn't have change so we couldn't pay her so we all agreed to pay the next day at check-out. - Check-out We got out of our room at 10am, looked around and called out in the hallway but nobody was in so we left the keys on the door and messaged her as we had to leave and didn't want to wait for her again and making us late. She then kept on sending agressive messages and threats on both Whatsapp and via Booking.com to my boyfriend, calling him a liar and a thief, whilst she lied herself not accepting our money!!! - Other customers feedback On our way out after checking out we bumped into 2 other customers who said they also found Gina very unwelcoming and passive-agressive. They also stated there was no air conditioning and cockroaches!!! The host Gina shouldn't work in hospitality and think about a career reconversion as she clearly doesn't have the right approach!!
