How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewIf I could give 11 out of 10 I would! I truly believe this is the only room with the very best view in the whole of Florence! It is priceless to wake each morning and drink a cuppa in bed looking at the Duomo. Only one room with the balcony book it if you can. Very comfortable and reflecting the 16th century style was v quiet with door closed despite location. Air con and fan , fridge and kettle in room. Great arrangement with 2 places for brekkie and rate the Duomo Museum cafe as the better. Luisa our host was charming too .
Nothing other than maybe a bit more light in the bathroom

Verified reviewLuisa was an amazing host - nothing at all was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and in perhaps the best location in Florence with stunning views of the Duomo. The sparkling water fountain was a lovely touch as were the thoughtful recommendations for things to do and see.

Verified reviewBardzo dobra lokalizacja. 15 minut piechotą od dworca. Świetny kontakt z właścicielem. Codziennie sprzątana łazienka i pokój. Dobrze klimatyzowane pomieszczenia. Dostęp do wody pitnej za darmo. Jeżeli wymeldowanie jest szybciej niż twój wyjazd z miasta, można bezpłatnie zostawić bagaż i pójść na ostatnie zwiedzanie. Fajna opcja śniadań w kawiarni na rogu kamienicy.
Mieliśmy pokój z łazienką na korytarzu. Nam to nie przeszkadzało ale jeżeli wstydzisz się korzystać tak z toalety to lepiej zaznaczyć w wiadomości prywatnej, żeby łazienka znajdowała się w pokoju. Dla nas nie ma żadnych minusów.

My fault in away , picked wrong room the room had a external shower didn’t see that but what they should provide is dressing gowns as it’s right in front of reception and walking or coming out with towel round you can’t be very unprofessional and dangerous if floor gets wet and slippery also . Fridge is also in reception ! And the 1 small wardrobe can barely hold 2 peoples clothes for a week

Verified reviewThe view of the duomo and the breakfast choices were great.
The air conditioner was not working, and although I was provided with a fan, it was not sufficient to cool the room. I was advised to switch the air conditioner to fan mode; however, the air it circulated had a moldy smell. After spending time outdoors in the heat, I was hoping to return for an afternoon nap and a break from the sun, but unfortunately, that was not possible due to the uncomfortable conditions.

That said, I really appreciate you bringing it to my attention, and I’ll make sure to check everything right away. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience, especially with the summer heat. Luisa
