Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was no shower. Just a large spa bath with a handheld shower head but it wasn’t working very well and very low water pressure.
Amazing locations and views of the sea. Rooftop with small infinity plunge pool overlooking the sea was lovely. Staff were very helpful.

AustraliaThe terrace and pool area would be enhanced with proper umbrellas for shade - particularly in the summer months and into September! At times it was hard to make contact with staff to get essentials delivered to the room that had been overlooked by the cleaning staff (eg water, towels)
brilliant location; fabulous view, stunning terrace and pool - which is very rare in Monopoli!

SingaporeWe had to wait an hour in 36C to check in. No one answered the reception number, the emergency phone (owner's) wasn't even turned on. It turns out the hotel doesn't actually have a 24 hour front desk even though it says it does
Location is superb - right on the sea. Pool has an amazing view. Room was classy - who knew a round bed could be so comfortable! Staff were (mostly) helpful and friendly

United Kingdomlack of shower in room (bath only), breakfast wasn’t great but understandable given lack of on-sight kitchen
excellent location with lovely roof terrace, only downside was the lack of shower in room (bath only) would recommend because of the terrace alone given not many hotel in Monopoli offer a pool and public beaches are very crowded

United States of Americathe room faced the street (superior suite) so it was very noisy until 1:30am both nights we stayed. the rooms all share a small “reception” area that is also very noisy in the morning with staff preparing the breakfast.

BrazilThe "swiming pool" is very small and shallow, so you can sit or knee on it, so you can't enjoy the pool and deck as I thought. Parking space are very far, and you also have to pay it dayly, or you can look for a free parking space wich are even more far away. Lots of rules. For example, they give you a magnetic card to acess the propertie. The card is really old with duct tape on it, and they told me that if it stays near your cell phone it can be demagnetized. If you demagnetize ou lose the card, you have to pay 100 euros, wich is an absurd price for such an old card, and you have to stay alert to not demagnetize it. The price is not worthy, too expansive, and the pool is not that enjoyable. The bathroom does not have a shower. It has a bathtub, so is not easy or quick to take a shower.
Amazing view, from the room's window and from the deck. Delicious breakfast with lot of options, and gluten free/lactose free options. Great location in the old town, near from the beach. Very confortable bed

United States of AmericaThe housekeeping staff only left 1 roll of toilet paper. We contacted the reception staff on WhatsApp who instructed us to look behind the desk for supplies, but we were unable to find any. We ran into other guests staying at the B&B and they were also needing toilet paper. Unfortunately, we were unable to find any toilet paper but did manage to find napkins. Hopefully they can have a stock of supplies for guests here.
The room we stayed in was perfect for two people and we loved the rooftop terrace with the pool and views of the ocean. The reception staff was also very accommodating when we arrived. Our taxi driver dropped us off on the opposite site of the Old Town (even though we tried to explain that the location was on the other side), one of the reception staff came to pick us up so that we didn't need to drag our heavy luggage on a hot day. Our room was boho-chic and we loved the location of the B&B. We also arranged a car-hire through them for dinner in the Polignano area (20 minutes north) which they provided drop off and pick up. They also provided airport transfer service to Bari which was 50 euros one way. Overall, it was a lovely stay for 1 night, and we wish we had stayed longer because of how beautiful Monopoli was.

IrelandAlthough the staff in the morning do their utmost to keep the noise down when making breakfast our bed was probably no more than 9 feet from reception and the door is just too thin. I think you really just need to invest in a heavy sound proof door as I know this will be a complaint from nearly every guest who stays in the rooms around the reception. Also, the shower situation is just a bit odd, I’m not sure why there just using a normal shower, I didn’t mind too much but my wife found it difficult. Breakfast could be better but we didn’t mind going out for ours.
Great location, really nice and helpful staff and the upstairs terrace is stunning and a great place to relax. The bed was really comfortable and there was a nice sea view. Enjoyed our time at Bellavista and Monopoli.

AustraliaThe room itself is lacking, price considered for the pool in suite the room leaves much to be desired. The general smell from the pool is unpleasant and looks unclean. The bathroom wall doesn’t reach the ceiling and the sliding door doesn’t close properly so there is no privacy. Reception is not 9am - 9pm as they suggest, rather 9am - 1pm (before check in time) so let them know in advance that you’re arriving, and know your exact time so they can let you in.
The property is located close to the main centre and the rooftop area is beautiful with a gorgeous, uninterrupted view of Monopoli.

United KingdomOur stay at this “hotel” would simply be described as horrible. We arrived there after a very long drive to be greeted by no one. There is no staff or even a reception area. We stumbled upon a cleaner that couldn’t communicate with us and it took us hours to get someone to come over to give our room key (even though we got there after our check in time). We paid extra for the sea view room with breakfast and a jacuzzi bath. At the first glance the room with the view looked nice however we then realised the tv wasn’t working. The jacuzzi bath is there as a selling point but it doesn’t fit two people and another inconvenience was that there was nothing to stabilise the shower head with (the water is not powerful or hot enough) which made it difficult to wash my hair with. The fact that the minibar in the room was located in the bathroom next to the toilet didn’t feel hygienic to us too. We didn’t sleep well at all given the blinds were not blackout and the room was very light early in the morning. Our bed was 2 metres away from “the breakfast bar” (which was essentially a corridor) so we got woken up again at 6am from the staff preparing breakfast and chatting amongst eachother (the walls are very thin and you are literally a metre away from them). The extra cost we paid for the breakfast was not worth it and it was so bad we actually opted out the last day. The rooftop pool is nice but not big enough for the amount of guests they could have and full of pigeons. The pool is also high as your knee (not even). Also everything is self service so do not expect hotel poolside treatment. The marketing pictures of this hotel are very deceitful. Do not be fooled by the pictures. They market themselves as luxury but it’s far from luxury. We complained to the staff about the problems we had and wanted a refund / checkout early as it was ruining our holiday. They refused and moved us to their sister property.
Nothing it ruined our holiday, if we had to say one thing we liked it would be the location (although parking is impossible).
