    OK but not great!

Rooms were adequate but shabby and breakfast was not as good as expected. Staff lacked enthusiasm and energy. The hotel had a 1950s feel about it - OK but not great!

Perfect location right on the seafront, close to the old quarter and to the pedestrianised area and with a beach only a few steps away.

Pity that the jams and honey provided at breakfast were pre-packaged individual portions rather than locally sourced. The area in front of the hotel could be noisy at night, especially on a Saturday.

Staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. Breakfasts were good with delicious locally baked pasticiotti and excellent coffee. Our room was clean and spacious, great to have a balcony with views over the bay. Excellent location, close to a public beach, the historic town centre and good shops, especially for gelati.

First, the staff at this hotel are absolutely fantastic like Pablo and Francesco just to name a few. They went above and beyond to help us with beaches, restaurants and directions. The hotel's location is excellent...close to the fort, beach, shopping and restaurants. They have safe close by parking for 8 euros a day. Our room was clean and breakfast was fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return in a heartbeat.

    Nothing - it's great :)

I love staying here. It's such a cute hotel, great location right on Otranto seafront! I had a balcony room with an awesome view of the sea - you could sit there watching la passeggiata. So many nice restaurants and bars on your doorstep (literally) - and of course the beach. Rooms are quite basic but the aircon is excellent and location so convenient and always helpful and friendly staff. Also quite close to the train station if you take the train there.

Poor breakfast as in the whole south of Italy. Rooms are old and furniture came from a museum. No mosquitoes protection. 1-2 night ok, not for long holidays.

    location is great.

The desk staff didn't really understand booking.com process. We used the "pay now" option booking online. They still demanded payment at check out. even when we presented our booking confirmation showing payment made. We paid again right there to avoid hassle (no English spoken there, we don't speak Italian) and had to go through booking.com to have one payment returned.

The bella vista "beautiful view" balcony over the Otranto harbor, beach, park was really a treat.

Public transport to and from Otranto is extremely limited - you need to pay close attention to bus and train time tables, otherwise you WILL be caught out! Strictly speaking, we did not experience this as a negative - we wanted to see a part of Italy which is "genuine Italian" (i.e. off the normal tourist route) and Otranto definitely is such a place. We loved every minute of our time there and the difficulties we experienced with public transport just added to the charm of the place.

The breakfast was superb - great selection of food, including fresh fruit from the manager's own garden. The staff were all very helpful. Great location, great place for a relaxing holiday - wish we could have stayed longer!

Nothing really important but don't expect a modern greatly decorated place. It is simple, both the hotel and the rooms, but you have a pleasant stay and everything works fine, which is what matters the most.

We stayed 8 nights in 6 different places in Puglia and this was the only Hotel. It was a great experience. It has perfect location, right by the sea, between beach and castle (which are the 2 main points of interest in the city), a short walking distance from both. Breakfast was by far the best we had in any of our bookings for this trip, and it included a buffet with eggs, ham, cheese, bread, juice, coffee etc. Francesco at Reception desk was very helpful, giving us tips, advice on where to eat, showing us how to go around with a map, etc. Good value for money and good experience. Strongly recommended

A long list: There is no lift. The rooms are on the first and second floor so you have to carry your bags up and down the stairs The decor is very dated. There are things boxed in all over the place. It looks like the decor hasn't changed in 20 years although it is in relatively good condition. The bathroom desperately needs a refurbishment. The shower is about 2ft square with a hanging shower curtain. It is impossible to shower without the curtain sticking to you, your elbow hitting the tap and switching it off, and the bathroom ending up flooded. We were provided with two bath towels that felt like sand paper There are electrical points all over the place covered with tape to stop you using them. The tv, fridge and table lamp all run from one socket with cables trailing across the wall. The staff are miserable. Only one person smiled. No effort is made to make you feel welcome. Breakfast, while reasonable, included offerings of packeted toast that were broken, yet still on the buffet the following day For less than the price of this room we stayed in a beautiful palazzo in Gallipoli and we hired a beautiful apartment in the heart of the historic centre of Lecce

The hotel is in an excellent location. Overlooking the promenade near the old city and the sea front. The room ( not economy) was large with a double bed and a single bed. There was a balcony with seating. Be aware that the promenade and seafront is busy all evening so there is activity until after midnight. However with doors shut and air con switched on you can isolate the noise

The bathroom in the economy rooms is too narrow, very noisy - there is no insulation on the floor, and through the doors to the corridors, there was a building apparently for the preparation of the garden for the season, and the excavators started working under our windows as early as 7.00 am.
