Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicMainly the one lady at the reception It s a pitty that a hotel like this is now struggling for customers when it should be overbooked given the history, the building, the interiors…but it depends on staff and what can they offer and the services (also no caffeteria and no bar at the hotel…). This all may probably be the key…
Breakfast was very nice as well as most of the staff, except one lady who was present at our arrival and then when we took our luggage before leaving Merano. She was unfortunately not helpful at all, unlike all the others, specifically the staff at the breakfast. She should not be working at touristic business in our view

Switzerlandsee above, bar service/menu; a bit more space for toiletries (see revamping bathrooms)
Breakfast was good, bar/terrasse posted a nice wine selection, but contrary to Italian bars further south, the tidbits could be somewhat more inspiring. Bathrooms could do with an update. Access to the hotel is difficult to find, if one is approaching the site from the wrong side of the road - directions on the booking confirmation would be helpful. Staff was very helpful und friendly, location is excellent.

NetherlandsYou can't park your car at the hotel. But the hotel staff advised us about a free car parking just a few minutes by foot from the hotel. A good alternative.

An elegant historic hotel, attentive & friendly staff, clean & comfortable. Quiet though on a Main Street. We had a large room with a balcony. Generous buffet breakfast. Great location, close to everything including the train station. We would stay here again.

United KingdomPrevious reviewers have bemoaned the parking situation, however I read one review which said "We arrived by motorbike and the hotel provides free parking in a garage." Ao you can imagine how I felt when I was told I had to pay €20 for 2 nights to park my bike. I suggested they update the bio on the hotel to reflect that there is a fee to park bikes as this is a deal-breaker for me and I would not have gone to this hotel had I known. The wi-fi was very poor, like going back in time to dial up - I often had to revert to my mobile phone's data in order to get internet - forget YouTube or Netflix which, and given there was no English TV channel, as a solo traveller, this meant zero evening's entertainment. A fridge and kettle (or tea/ coffee station) would have been appreciated
Grand Hotel Bellevue is a very lovely classic hotel with a grand entrance and reception area with lavish furnishings - at ground level. I stayed in a single room which I would describe as basic and nothing at all special and definitely not elegant. The room had a small terrace which overlooked the enclosed car park at the rear of the hotel - this did, of course, make it very quiet. The staff were wonderfully helpful and multi-lingual to an excellent standard! As always, it is the staff who keep these hotels in good favour...
