Location and overall setting is nice

Decor is very dated. The bed was very uncomfortable. the room had an airfreshner of some sort which too strong. It is a pity that my scoring is poor because it has lots of potential and with some refurbishment could easily be a top hotel. Breakfast is very basic

The only good thing about the property was the swimming pool. If the pool had not been there we would not have stayed.

Everything with exception of the pool. The hotel is old and tired with a rundown appearance. The rooms are dark and dingy and in a state of disrepair. We had to ask to move rooms because of a list of multiple faults including a faux leather head board crumbling on the pillows and a sofa bed unfit to sleep on and in pieces. Hotel restaurant was poor quality and overpriced and breakfast was no better.

The luxury in this Borgo is too much. The enormous pool is one of the largest ever seen.

The breakfast. After being there for several years almost 20 times the least the breakfast never improved. No scrambled eggs, bacon, ricotta or tomatoes. In all these years we've never been asked to pay for the sunbeds but this year we're asked to pay €10 a day to use them.

Cleanliness and staff friendliness were impeccable. The room is a bit dated but all things are functional and super clean. Nice fresh towels every day and the floors are cleaned daily too. Parking was great. I could park my car outside my apartment. The location is on the outskirts of Modica, taking only a few minutes to commute to the city center.

1st surprise we had was that the pool was not free. They requested €20 pp per day. For 3 days they requested €180 then discounted it to €150. The pool and pool area are nice, but some pool tiles are missing. 2nd surprise was the poor breakfast. Only hard-boiled eggs, ham, cheese and bread were available apart from a nice variety of cakes. Aircon is centrally controlled by the receptionist, so each time you need to adjust, you need to call the staff. Internet was interrupting all the time.
