The decor, but that represents the old Italian tradition. Don't expect a typical 4 star hotel, especially if you have American standards/expectations. This is Italy and the simplicity is it's charm. The photos don't do justice to the real charm of this place, I strongly reccomend to find a good photographer and get some awesome photos. The wifi is weak.

Charming little hotel with perfect location in the very center of the ancient town of Casarano, in a tiny street but few steps from the main piazza, right in front of good restaurants and bars. Strategic position to explore both the beaches and the towns of Salento (approx.30 min or less drive to Otranto, Gallipoli, Lido Marini etc), but away from the hassle and tourist traps. Some of the best beaches on the Ionian are just 25 min.drive away. Calm, quiet, relaxing. Great service. Free parking in front of the hotel. (A car is a must in Puglia btw). Good beds. Blinding window covers, AC which is a must in Italy in summer, but not the norm. All in all excellent value for money

My wife Kim & I have travelled & lived in 5 out of 7 continents, so plenty of experience when it comes to understanding accommodation! I would suggest that the dark furniture is sprayed in a lighter colour! I would suggest that you take advantage of any natural light & cool air as possible. Perhaps use plantation style wooden blinds to distract the sunlight from the living and sitting areas! The reception is cold and not welcoming. Perhaps some brighter colours and music would help with the ambiance. The people were very friendly and accommodating to our needs but attention is required to the immediate environment to reflect the staff’s warm attitudes and personality.
