Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel doesn’t serve food, other than breakfast. Snacks at least would have been good. The hotel is on a busy corner which does generate some noise and whilst this didn’t bother us, it may concern some. Drive into Stresa (too far for all but the very keen to walk) is only about 10 mins, but unless you’re there early, parking can be difficult.
Traditional, relaxed hotel. Lots of outdoor space to admire the stunning view. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff member serving breakfast (sorry we didn’t get your name), should have a special mention for her friendly, efficient service (remembering without being asked that I only drink decaf coffee!) and enabling us to attend the ‘village party’ along with several hundred locals!

Very Nicely presented , exceptionally clean , easy parking and fabulous views of the lake from the rooms. Situated in the very pretty town of Brisino, a short distance from Stresa. Close to beach areas of the lake for swimming ,etc. The people were extremely welcoming , helpful and very friendly. We would chose to stay here again , no question.

AustraliaA charming family run Italian Hotel. Our balcony had a magnificent view of Lake MAGIORE, loved sitting there having our lunch which we bought from a supermarket at STRESA the town located way down the winding road from the hotel. we had a car but it was a very long and winding road down!!! From the town of STRESA you can catch a hop on, hop off ferry to explore the other Towns/places on Lake MAGIORE.

GermanyThe hotel is generally nice. It is located quite far from the city, but has amazing view on the lake. Rooms are really old, including furniture and bathrooms. Also the breakfast is quite poor.

SwitzerlandDespite being extremely well maintained and clean, some things are quite old. I would prioritize a revamp on mattresses and pillows, followed by towels.
We stayed at hotel Brisino for one night and left wanting to return. It is family-run by an extremely nice couple, they made all the difference in the stay. Breakfast is outstanding (including a great variety of Gluten-free options, more than much more luxurious hotels in the area I've stayed in the past) and the views both from the room and from the breakfast area were absolutely stunning!

United StatesThe hotel was quite difficult to get to from the toll road, and also difficult to get from the hotel down to Stresa town, which is where the action is. The hot water was almost not existent in the shower.
The room had a balcony with a wonderful view of the lake.

NetherlandsRoad to the hotel is very narrow. Basically good for 2 Fiat 500 cars! If you intend to bike, than would not recommend this location, as it is 4km climbing from Stresa to Brisino against percentages of sometimes 10%!

Czech RepublicTake into consideration that it is located about 2-3 km from the town and nearest restaurants, so best way to get here is by car.
In general, very nice place to stay near Stresa, especially if you are into hiking/trekking or plan bicycle vacation. Stuning view of the lake, quiet location, very welcoming and helpful staff (some good dinner recommendations from the owner). Breakfast was great, local products, cakes, savoury as well, coffee etc., also with a view from terrace. Room was clean and nice, with a large balcony. The hotel is one of the first historically in this area.

United KingdomThis was a lovely, typically Italian hotel in a classic building and in a fabulous position. The views from the gardens and from our room were stunning. It was just a couple of minutes by car down into Stresa and the whole lake could be explored from here. Breakfast was really good and all the staff were very nice - they were disappointed we were only staying one night, telling us it wasn't long enough to really explore the area (which we knew) but there will be a next time!
