Stayed here many times, small, friendly hotel - near enough to the centre to be close but far enough to escape the tourist throng. The Via Garribaldi has a fine selection of restaurants, the Biennale Gardens are a short walk.

The pillows are a little hard for me.

Perfect location. 3 minutes walk from the allaliguna boat drop off. Pleasant staff and very helpful and knowledgeable when enquired about places to visit. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous little hotel close to the Biennale. Beautifully furnished room had everything for the traveller and the staff was extremely helpful and made the visit very nice with their thoughtfulness related to my accessibility needs. If I would have known beforehand, they even had a door straight to the canal making it possible to arrive by boat straight to the door. The waterbus stops are also near.

We were unfortunate with the weather for a couple of days - but that's a gamble you take!

We had a spacious, clean and comfortable apartment (part of the hotel) in Castello, at the start of Via Garibaldi which is close to all amenities , a lovely area, felt very safe and not too crowded with tourists, but yet lively with many choices of where to eat and shop etc. We went slightly off peak (end of March) which for us was a bonus (apart from some heavy rain, but that didn't hinder our experience). It's a short walk from the hotel/apartment to local attractions including San Marco. We spent 4 nights and would have stayed longer if possible. It was nice not having a car in sight, no roads, and travelling by water or walking. If coming from the Marco Polo Airport, get the blue line Alilaguna to Arsenale (€15 one way or €27 round trip/return) and it's a couple of minutes walk from there. There is an option of a water taxi, but we were told it would be €170 one way - couldn't justify that! The nicest place for food was next door to the hotel on the corner. Recommended by the hotel. But there are many options for all tastes.

The room was poorly ventilated and quite loud, the window came out to a messy courtyard.

The location was very good, central and next to the see with beautiful view. The hotel agreed to early check-in, which was super helpful. Breakfast was tasty and quite varied. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was nice: not too small and well equipped.

    Couldn't fault it.

Great location near Arsenale on waterfront. 10 mins from San Marco but quiet. Hotel warm, clean and fresh. Room cosy and well finished. Staff very friendly and helpful (Elena, Simone & Pietro). Excellent breakfast. Well recommended.

poor wifi, disconnected every hour! when we arrived, we were taken to an apartment further down the street, and it was not exactly what we ordered - a complete discrepancy with the description and photo! We were lucky that there was a free room in the hotel where we asked to be moved, because when you come to Venice, you want to have a view from the window of the city and the canal, and not sit in a room on the ground floor with a small window behind bars and look into the wall of the neighboring house. Breakfast is the same, no variety, keep this in mind if you are staying for 2-4 days.. There was no normal blanket, I covered with a thin blanket

very warm room, clean, towels changed every day.

This is only minor, but the room gets very hot, it is ideal when you come in after a cold day out but after a while it gets stuffy and hard to sleep with the heat coming from the bathroom, even though we had turned off the heating. Everything else perfect 👌

Great location, right alongside the water taxi, and only about 15min walk to centre of Venice. There are plenty of restaurants alongside the hotel aswell. The staff are exceptional, so helpful and kind, they go out of their way for you. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

The room was a bit compact for our liking. It wasn't very well insulated so you could hear the guests in adjacent rooms coming in and out and could hear the cleaners outside of the room in the morning. You could control the heating and AC in the room but sadly we couldn't turn off the heating in the bathroom and this made the room a bit stuffy during the night time. The room can get very dark at night by pulling the curtains and turning the lights off but sadly the hallway light peeps through the bottom of the room door as there is a gap there :( small things but once those are fixed then the hotel definitely deserves 5 stars! :)

Loved the location and the look of the hotel. The staff were great and the breakfast was just enough (hot & cold drinks, bread rolls, cheese, meat slices, eggs, crossaints, cakes and cereals). The Filipino lady who was there during breakfast time was very sweet and quickly refilled the items which were finished. The guy at the reception was very nice and showed us all the way to our room instead of just handing us the keys and telling us the room number. The room window overlooked the canal and the bathroom had various toiletries for us to use.

The arrogant n rude people there.

Perfect location 4 beautiful site seeing n walking. Hotel n staff lovely. Rooms clean and well organised 4 breakfast and everything. Altho the General people in Venice rude impolite. Talk to you as if 5 year olds. Beware I read safest place. I was robbed after being there 10mins and I am street wise. Reported to police there were another 4 people in same situation. Seen it done it wouldn't go again.

    Nothing.

Excellent location. I've stayed in Venice before and rooms overlooking canals are very noisy, which is why we chose this location. We upgraded to a larger room which overlooked the lagoon - it was money well spent. We had a fabulous view right over to the Doge's Palace. You can walk from here to St Mark's square, or it is 2 minutes to Arsenale ferry stop. Via Guiseppe Garibaldi has shops, ATM, bars and places to eat. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was more than we expected. I would stay here again.

Thank you sooo much once again for welcoming me and my Mum warmly into your hotel. Thank you for the hospitality during our visit. It’s on the corner of this super quiet street with a few cafes and a gay friendly boulangerie… not that you’ll need any cheese straws after the breakfast spread our Venetian friends at Hotel Ca’Formenta offer. Scrambled egg, flavoured yoghurt, assorted pork products. Everything you need to pick yourself up after a big night on St Mark’s and an ill-advised epilogue at the well-stocked mini bar. Vending machine 24h a few doors up. Crisps, chocolate, something for the ladies too. Clean, smooth sheets and good water pressure. No scent of defecant and smiley staff. Charming Philippino matron for cuts and bruises. So get booked in! It’s the famous Ca’Formenta!
