Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

A bit noisy
Good location.Everyrhing you need was there-;good equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, bus station, mosquito net, warm water. The host even found for us free parking place.

Quiet location. Amazing host. The apartment had everything I needed. There is a parking garage nearby (2 minutes walk). With caution, you can park a large car. The WiFi was good enough for what I needed (25 mbps). You can get into the city center by foot (15 minutes). On the way back you must know that it's uphill, and you can take the bus.

All great. Location with all you need around (Pizza, cafe, pub, bus stop...). Best advantage is near by underground garage with parking lot relating to the apartment. Lucia is nice lady which give us good tips for our short stay.

Excellent choice.The location is very good. Parking is provided.There is complete equipment in the apartment in case you need anything. Everything is clean and tidy. Lucija is a wonderful woman and host who does her job with full sensitivity and respect. The warmest recommendation for this option

little rush street beneath
The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The landlord Lucia was amazing and very helpful, she also left us a breakfast in the fridge and some small snacks. We sure want to come back.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable.
Very clean appartment on a good location. Fridge full of water, milk and orange juice. The host provided us a nice breakfast assortiment.

Everything was OK.
We only stayed one night in Trieste, so we did not use too much of the available facilities. The host is very friendly and helpful, it was easy to do the check-in as she appeared right on time at the place. The apartment is good, meets the description. The house where it is located is quiet, nice, clean. The neighborhood is also nice, feels safe, it's easy to walk to the city center and the sea. One particular concern for us was parking. Although there is no private parking and it is not possible to park right before the house, there is a public garage in a 100 meters or so where we had found a place for the car and it did not cost too much money (something like 14 euros for a day).

Everything was great, the only minor issue was that the bed wasn't very comfortable, it's basicaly a foldable couch, but for 1 night it was adequate, and I would definitely choose this appartement again.
It was a big, spatious appartment in a residential building. The location is in walking distance (15-20 min) to the centre, but direct bus to the city center (line 10) is also available, bus stop is right next to the building. Lucia was a great host, we received extra bottled mineral water, orange juice and cookies as well. Parking seemed to be free on the streets, however we used an underground parking nearby (appr. 100-200 metres) for 16 EUR/day. Awesome place!
