How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

There's not much to not like about this place, only that we weren't there long enough

Verified reviewCatia is an amazing host! The apartment is in an ideal location (a 3 minute walk to the colosseum), several restaurants and a 24 hour grocery store on the same street, and close to most of the main sites we wanted to visit. The apartment was spotless and Catia had provided pastries and tea for our first breakfast. Bonus points for the washer! It was very convenient for us to wash our clothes. The WiFi was excellent. I worked remotely for a week and the signal was strong and consistent.
Everything was fantastic.

Verified reviewThe location is a perfect base for seeing all the major sights in Rome. Despite being right next to the Colosseum, the street this is on isn't crowded with tourists. A few good food and gelato options nearby, as well as a bank with no international fees to withdraw money and a 24 hour grocery store. Taxis queue up a block away near the Colosseum, so getting a taxi is here is very easy compared to the rest of the city. The apartment was large and comfortable, and everything was clean. The air conditioner worked great and the shower is a decent size with great water pressure and is tankless so the hot water doesn't run out. The host was very polite and provided several recommendations for places to visit while we were there. They also allowed us to store our bags in the apartment for a few hours after checkout, which was greatly appreciated.
Nothing, this apartment was way above my expectations.

Verified reviewApartment was immaculate. Excellent location - literally across the street from the Colosseum. Many restaurants within a short walking distance. Easy access to cabs. Overall the perfect place to stay while in Rome.
The security lock on the front door was a bit temperamental, else everything else was fantastic.

Verified reviewThe location is great and the apartment is very clean. Cátia was very kind and helpful. Everything was perfect except that the doorbell was frequently rung, often very early in the morning, which would wake us up. It would be helpful if the doorbell volume could be adjusted.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The property was clean and big enough for a family of 4. My 10 and 16 year old boys shared the second bedroom with no problems at all. The bed in the main bedroom was so comfortable and I had the best nights sleep. Catia was the most welcoming host i have ever encountered. She was there to greet us, was genuinely interested in us as a family and what we wanted from our trip to Rome. She recommended restaurants, places to visit and even gave us tips on how to enjoy Rome in the authentic way. There was everything we needed in the property. Coffee, water, biscuits and she even gave us some umbrellas as it was due to rain. Catia even allowed us to leave out bags on the last day as we were flying late and her next guests weren’t arriving until the evening. Catia was on the end of a WhatsApp message for anything we needed. She really does want her guests to feel at home. The location was perfect. It is right by the Colosseum, which you can see out of both the kitchen and main bedroom window.
There was nothing about this property I could fault.

Verified reviewThe location of the apartment was perfect, easy to get from the airport. Very clean, light and has everything you need for your vacation. Coffee, tea and some crackers are left for you. If you decide to prepare something to eat , you can do that . In addition the supermarket close by is open 24 hours, so when you are getting back from a long walk you can stop by and get something even when it’s late. There are many good restaurants close by.
Everything was perfect!!!

Verified reviewLovely apartment. Great location. Very clean. We were very happy. Hosts could not have been more responsive or helpful.
Good to know that the second bedroom is quite small. If being used by two adults although they can have their own beds it's very cosy. Maybe a sofa bed in the living room would be a good addition?

Verified reviewThis place was absolutely perfect for us. Catia welcomed us on arrival to show us the apartment, give us the keys and tips on area. It was convenient, surrounded by many eateries, supermarkets and a short walk to the colosseum. You can even get a view of the colosseum from the kitchen window. It was really nice to retreat to the living room at the end of the day to chill. Also, the kitchen was well equipped so we could make ourselves a simple lunch with fresh food from delis and eat at the dining table. Shhhh...very special to have the rooftop to ourselves with the colosseum as backdrop! We enjoyed chatting to Catia and she was very generous in allowing us to stay a few extra hours when she learned our flight was later than checkout. Grazie mille Catia

Views of the Colosseum outside the kitchen window & outside the lounge room window on the other side of the huge & immaculate apartment. The kitchen has everything you will need and far more.
