Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumThe bedroom was kind of smelly ( not sure because was too hot and water was evaporating from sewer or it's always lke that). Something we could stand and we didn't like much.
Although the room was simple, was exactly what we need to have it a pleasent stay. Airco, very important as that week was doing almost 38 degree celsius. Confortable beds, showes and also included a free breakfast ( simple, but good enough for some bread, coffee and start the day). On top of that parking for car was extremelly useful! We parked the car for 3-4 days and didn't take it out ( all on walking distantce, train station and restaurants)

Our stay at Ostello San Giovanni Bosco in La Spezia was wonderful! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were always kind, helpful, and ready with a smile. Their warm hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

I think I paid below 40 euros per night...the lowest among 8 Italian bookings. Yet there was free buffet breakfast, complete with coffee, several varieties of bread and pastries, cold cuts and fruits. The receptionist gave me a full and detailed orientation, unlike 2 of B&B's who did not even show their shadow. I was given a large room with wifi and elevator access. This hostel gave me first class treatment...a value way more than I paid for.

EstoniaThe room was very clean and large. I liked that there were cupboards to put things in. The breakfast was delicious and had a lot of choices. The staff was very nice. And the location was great, close to the train station to go to Cinque Terre, and also close to bus stops to go to Portovenere, San Terenzo beach and Lerici.

GermanyThe elevator is slow and working in a weird manner, you have to press the button multiple times, as when it us empty it stops on each floor. There is no daily cleaning or change of towels, nor emptying trash bins.
Spacious room, enough for a family of four. Great location, close to the train station and to the center of the town. Fiorela is a great host, she gave us many good tips, provided us with the train schedule for Cinque terre, explainedwhere to go, how to buy the tickets, and which ones to buy. Breakfast is simple, but enough to start the day. Private parking, costs extra, but spacious and secure. They gave us 2 free drinks (water or coffee) per day, which was super nice. There is a shared kirchen with a table, refrigerator, everything you need if you want to cook or bring take aways. In the room you have a kettle to make tea.

United StatesThe staff were so helpful with suggestions and answered any of my questions regarding busses, day trips, and local tips. The room was clean and good space for one probably for a couple as well. Location was close to the train station and a short walk into the area with lots of restaurants and shops. Breakfast was modest but nice, they really treat you nicely.

IrelandI had a great stay! The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient — just a short walk from the train station and close to plenty of restaurants. Despite being so central, the area was quiet and perfect for resting. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Would definitely recommend!

BelgiumThe thin walls in the room. The last night, I almost fell asleep, and my neighbors came in their room and they turned on the tv. It caused a lot of noise, but it was only for 15 minutes.
The staff was very friendly. The woman at the reception gave me very good information. She even gave me a timetable of the train to go to the Cinque Terre. Also the woman at the breakfast was friendly. The breakfast (buffet) was very good. Normally I never eat cake, but the "torta con prugne" and the "torta con mandorle e noci" was delicous!! Also the cappucchino. The bed slept good, There was also airco and a kettle to make some tea. You could use a shared kitchen en a fridge and there was a big terrace. I loved my stay here in the single room. The location was also good. In the city and close to the trainstation and busstop. I've been to the Cinque Terre, Portvenere (by bus) and Lerici (also by bus). I love this place.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, they had recommendations for travelling and where to visit during my stay. The breakfast was simple but exactly what you'd want to start the day with a good selection of meats, juice, breads and jams. Location is brilliant for access to the Cinque Terre via La Spezia Centrale station. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and knowing it's a non-profit venture made it even better!
