Casa VerbaVolant is located in the heart of Ortigia. It was easy to get to. Fausta and Elio brought their passion for writing, culture and creativity to life in the B&B. Each morning they prepared a special breakfast for their guests to provide a taste of Sicily. It came with an explanation of each item served. They also provided a library with an artistic twist where guests could relax. It was truly a one of a kind experience.

Staying at Casa Verbavolant in Ortigia was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were wrapped in warmth and hospitality that felt both genuine and rare. Our wonderful hosts Fausta & Elio take great care of their guests. The home is very unique in its design, every corner filled with books, artwork and thoughtful details that speak to a love of beauty and culture. Our room, though it opened onto a lively street, was a quiet retreat—spotless and serene. The bed was cool and comfortable, and we slept like babies. Each morning, we woke to a varied breakfast that felt like a small celebration: prepared with care using fresh and local ingredients (and the best coffee!!).

The hosts were amazing so helpful. There was also a laundry on site and you had to see breakfast to believe it. All locally sourced and soo much. It was delicious! The location was spot on, right in the centre of the old town. We were even provided with beach towels.

    Nothing, ticked all the boxes

We have stayed in a huge number of different properties over the years of travelling the world and this experience is truly unique. Your experience starts with the owners (Fausta and Elio) personally greeting you at the front door as you enter their world from the hustle & bustle of Ortigia. A full briefing is given with lots of great info on the Pensione and sights. Complementary water and some drinks are available for your stay. The room is delightful, clean and spacious. Lots of thought has gone into the interior design. You can make use of their laundry. Beach towels are provided for when you want to go swimming. Breakfast for each day is different, personally served by the owners with lots of different Sicilian delicacies. You can even get a pistachio cappuccino! More delicacies are offered during this experience and individual parcels of Sicilian pastries can be wrapped up for you to enjoy later in the day at afternoon tea - with a lovely collection of herbal teas on offer. At no additional cost! On leaving, a little gift is given to add to the memory. On hearing that we were travelling to Ragusa, recommendations are later sent for places to eat. No one does this anymore! A special award should be offered to Casa VerbaVolant for their efforts!

Nothing - perhaps offer a water fountain instead of water in plastic bottles. More sustainable.

Our stayed was truly amazing, we felt like we were staying at home, or even better!. Fausta and Elio were great hosts and took care of every detail during our days there. Breakfast had a lot of variety, including homemade stuff. All the effort that was put into all the furniture of casa verbavolant is facinating, and they even have their own merchandising (they are editors) that ofcourse we bought!.

Attention to detail is next level. Immaculate spaces, impeccably decorated on theme, pristine, warm and welcoming. Located in the heart of Ortigia, but you feel like you are in a beautiful home. Fausta & Elio are outstanding hosts who have thought of absolutely everything a guest may need. From the room inclusions, the quality of the mattress, the local soaps, stationary & a typewriter in keeping with their other life as book publishers. Breakfast is a wide array of truly local Sicilian produce beautifully presented. They are always available to advise & recommend how to best enjoy Ortigia. This a total experience not just a bed for the night !

    Could not fault a thing.

Everything!! The location is perfect, our welcome by Fausta and Elio was warm and sincere. They have thought of every detail to make each guest comfortable. The passion they have for books and publishing is evident - the vintage typewriters and decorations are exceptional. Breakfast was incredible - again, their passion to have their guests experience Sicily’s culture and foods is so thoughtful. Their premises are exceptionally clean and again, thoughtful also for bag storage on check-out. Truly exceptional.

Casa VerbaVolant is a true hidden gem. Fausta and Elio have clearly worked so hard to make this a special place for guests. There are so many thoughtful touches from the daily curated breakfast spreads (all local produce) to the local sodas and water in the fridge, and the provision of beach towels and umbrellas. The design is incredible, it’s impeccably clean, and there are so many little thoughtful touches. The location is fantastic and within easy walking distance of most attractions. Overall, an incredible place to stay and I wish I’d had more time there. I’ll be back for sure!

The owners were so accommodating and passionate about their property and all things Sicilian. It was as though they were sharing their home with us.

We were there for 5 nights and would have appreciated more shelf or drawer space so that we didn’t live out of a suitcase completely.

This facility is a real gem! The attention to detail of decor and furnishings is top of the line. Our hosts were most congenial and accommodating to our needs. Each morning they present a different selection of breakfast treats, all local and organic. The location is amazing, right in the center of Ortigia, with wonderful restaurants and shops right outside the door, as well as all of the famous landmarks. The room was super quiet in spite of being in the very center, 4th floor with elevator. The kitchen and sitting area are communal with the double room bookings, suggest you choose a private apartment if you prefer complete privacy. All in all a fantastic experience in a magical city!

A chair in the bedroom would be nice, especially for us seniors. Also a bigger nightstand to put our devices, bedside comforts (tissue, reading glasses, water, etc.)

The breakfasts are amazing and we loved the charm of the apartment and all the unique references to their lives as book publishers. The location is fantastic too. The pictures do not do this place justice.
