Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryThe shower tray was a bit worn. We had only american coffee for breakfast.
Good location. Nice apartman. It was clean and comfortable. Parking was terrible, it took long time to find parking place. Next day, on Sunday, it would have been easier.

LatviaWhen I arrived there was nobody at the reception though they declare that the reception is open from 8:00 till 20:00 and my arrival time had been declared in advance. The maid advised to come in an hour and a half. As to the room cleaning: on my arrival the floor in the room was dirty.
Good location, walking distance both to railway and bus station as well as to the historic part. Breakfast very basic.

CanadaOur room was in the basement with no view. Not a problem. Bedsheets, towels were clean. But the room itself was not. Lots of dust from recent renovation works. We waited at the end of our stay to mention it in order to not disturb the dust and have it fly all over the place. Also being in the basement our wifi connection did not work. Breakfast okay. I was even offered gluten-free options on the second day, after I made the request.
Great location. Great staff. We were able to leave our luggage with them upon check-out while we spent extra hours to enjoy the city.

United States of AmericaSadly, the cleaning staff has one or more employees who cannot be trusted. As we moved on to our next reservation after a 5 day stay, both I and my husband realized quickly that each of us had left a belonging behind - items we had actually used the morning we checked out. When I I called to tell the office person that we would be back right away to pick up the items, she said she questioned staff and then told us nothing had been found in our room. That could not have been true. I even went back in person twice, but knowledge of the items was denied each time.
The owner kindly stayed late and extended closing the reception period when we notified that our train had an issue and we would be later. It is an old-world type place, with some lovely antiques, a planted inner courtyard, a flowered interior upper terrace with tables, and a handsome, impressive entrance with elevator. The rooms badly need updating, however, as do the tiny shower cubicles. Maintenance issues were not timely addressed, although told of two days in a row. We got no fresh towels or tiny soaps or toilet tissue or trash emptied until I inquired why not on the fourth day of our stay.

HungaryThe hotel is in an old house, furniture is really old, television is 17" so you can watch if you are really close. heating is a ceramic heating equipment that is lighting during the use. If you can sleep in dark only you shoud swith it off.
The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Ortigia island so the location is ideal place for tourism. If you dont spend much time in the room it is a good deal.

Lovely, quirky hotel , convenient for the train station, the city centre and Ortigia. The hotel is full of interesting pictures, furniture and other artefacts. The courtyard was lovely and in the summer would be a great place toi sit and relax.

AustraliaOther than the initial issue with the room everything else was fine.
We found our orignal room had a strange smell so the staff quickly transferred us to another room which was much appreciated. The new room was very much to our liking. The location of the Hotel is excellent, about a 10 minute walk to Ortigia island etc the staff were very helpful and breakfast was good quality continental style.

United KingdomBreakfast was modest but about adequate. The fridge in our room made a lot of noise but did not do much cooling. Our room could have done with brighter lighting and a few more electrical sockets.Apart from this, nothing more to say.
Casa Mia is what I would describe as being a basic and a slightly quirky hotel - I don't mean that as a criticism. The location is perfect being close to all facilities.Security was good too.The rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel is located in a 19th century building with a central courtyard which is obviously very different to modern hotels and with the bedrooms arranged around. The aircon was good - very necessary in a Sicilian summer.Good point was an efficient lift - not always a given.Staff were pleasant as well as helpful.
