Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomStaff couldn't speak English or didn't explain properly how things worked, the bed wasn't great, I could hear everything in my room, so if people were using the kitchen downstairs at 11 o'clock at night or coming into their rooms at past midnight, which they did every night, it woke me up. This is just a budget place so expect what you get for that price I suppose.
The good things were having a room in a decent location, not much else.

GreeceThe location is not great. It is near the railway station and a metro station but not really near anything else. On the way to the historic centre you go through a sex working district, which did not bother me at all but might not be to everyone's taste. The room was is three flights of stairs up, so a bit of extra workout. Inside the room is small, very low ceiling and felt a bit tight. It certainly is not for tall people. There is a window, but looks to a depressing ventilation shaft. The shower hose needs replacing and the shower door needs attention. Small leaks from the shower onto the floor. The bed is rather small and the bamboo headboard could do with a better cleaning. The shared fridge in the kitchen needs a good cleaning.
I liked the self check in and had a perfect communication with the owner, who was always immediately available. The room was basic but at a lower price too. Good A/C, nice bathroom and always hot water. Very quiet day and night.

The room was small but it has basic things I needed like private bathroom and communal kitchen. The location is perfect, 300 metres to the train station and the was surrounded by shops and eateries. The owner was prompt in responding to any request.

BulgariaWould have liked to have had the instructions to enter the building, find the door/Key, etc beforehand, so that I wasn't struggling in the dark alone at night. Travelling as a solo female, this is important. The single room is not the one shown in pictures which was disappointing. It's like an attic room with no natural light and low ceiling. If you're tall, you're going to have a bad time. I'm 5ft 2 and even I felt claustrophobic. Nowhere to hang clothes (there is a drawer) but if you have anything to hang, there's no place. The pillow has barely any form. I had to use a blanket and a cushion under it. The WiFi signal was also very weak in the room and often cut off entirely. The location is convenient for the station but it's not a nice area.
The room was spotlessly clean.

MoldovaThere was an "unpleasant feeling" with the price, when together with the city tax the amount of 20 € for cleaning appeared. Perhaps this method of luring customers works, but it was very unpleasant. Breakfast - according to the description on site, but after booking it turned out that it was in a cafe half a kilometer away. In the room you will find a coupon stating that you will get coffee, food and a small amount of water there. But in the cafe they did not know about the water and asked me to pay for it ☹️
Good location if you are going to use the train or bus station

AustraliaThe apartment was up a narrow set of stairs that were difficult for my wife to negotiate. The shower cubicle is minuscule.
The apartment was good value and whilst the location was a bit away from the city centre, we were able to reach many destinations on foot and with aid of the hop on hop off bus

SerbiaBathroom is horrible, shower falls only from the wall 🚿 it was difficult to take a good shower also is impossible to clean shower cabin and the mold was everywhere. Toilet seat was broken. The whole apartment (and building in general) requires BIG renovation; furniture is damaged, walls are dirty, decorative pillows are very dirty. Wifi has a poor signal. There is no space to dry swimsuits or towels etc.
Location and communication was pretty good. Sheets and towels were clean. Breakfast was ok but it's out of the building in bakery nearby which is not emphasize.

United KingdomWe only booked for a night to catch a bus early next morning as the hotel is super close to the station. The street on which the hotel is located is not very clean and it's a bit distant from the main centre. The stairs leading up to the room are very narrow and difficult to climb with a suitcase. The room itself was dark, suffocating and full of mosquitoes making it hard to relax and have a good sleep. The shower was so small that it was very hard to fit in it or move around. Okay for a one night cheap stay if you want to be close to the station!
Location very close to the bus and train station (which is the main reason we booked)

RomaniaThe room was miserable, very stincky because of the humidity and there was a lot of mold on the walls. The reality is far away of what you see on Booking.com. I do not recommend. The neighbourhood is shady and very dirty with a lot of trash on the streets. The building is very old and it stays to collapse because the walls are cracked. The room was actually in a garret and the ceiling was very low (I have 1.8m height and I had to lean over. Staff was very rude and said these are normal conditions in Italy and did not want to offer us another room nor a refund. They wanted to give us a free breakfast in they so called "kitchen" that was also very miserable. We canceled our booking and they (and Booking) refuse to refund the money even if the conditions were harmful and unhealthy.

BelgiumThe building was not as it was advertised. It is very dirty, very poor maintained, no paintings on the wall, cigarettes and trash were on the stairs and Infront of the building. It was not safe place as well, like red light district places nearby. I have never seen the owner but he was unfriendly on the phone. Check in procedure was poor as well. I don't recommend the place and will not stay again

United KingdomEverything was great
Great value for money. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The shared kitchen had the basics for making a simple meal, and free drinking water and snacks. The wifi was fast. The location is excellent, just down the road from the train station (but you can't hear it), the bus to the airport departs from the end of the street The owners, Francesco and Gabriele, were super friendly and helpful. It's clear they have a passion for what they do and work hard to make their costumers happy! I'll definitely come back next time I pass through to Catania.

Czech RepublicProperty description does not correspond to the conditions I found upon arrival. WiFi wasn’t working although it was stated at the property description that it’s available and fully functional. I had arrived from another country and I have no mobile internet abroad: I had to struggle a lot, searching for the free WiFi on the streets of Catania. Next, the gas oven was not working, although it’s present on the kitchen photos! I was not even able to fry some eggs for breakfast. Last, the in-room fridge was working only when I was inside the room! I have left fresh eggs inside, went for a all-day walk and I found them HOT upon arrival inside the fridge! I had to spend extra money for outdoor food, leaving myself with empty pockets just not to be hungry!! Finally, the property owner has written a complaint to the customer service, claiming that I have violated the property rules during the checkout, although NO INSTRUCTIONS / RULES WERE PROVIDED.
