Hotel has an "antique atmosphere" and only stairs to the upper floors. Room was comfortable, quiet if you close the windows, bed was good. Television and wifi was working, there was a fridge in the room. Location is the best, right in the old centre of Catania next to Piazza del Duomo, 2 minutes walking to the fish market and 5 minutes walking to Borsellino bus station to take Alibus to the airport (buy ticket on the bus) or Interbus to Syracusa (buy ticket at the ticket office). Eateries, bars, shops and night life are all around. Other attractions such as Castello Ursino and the Greco-Roman Antique Theater are only 5-10 minutes walking away.

Initial communication could have been better. I was given the impression the hotel had their own shuttle from the airport. Upon arrival I was informed it was the city AliBus which took me to the wrong station based on the name of the hotel, Centrale. After some time they dropped me off in the city 8 blocks from the hotel. The actual station, Borsellino, is very handy to the hotel. Like I said, communication could have been better.

The room was excellent, and the location could not be beat.

The overall appearance of the room is very dated. The evening staff member at check in was rude, however, the day staff was great.

The location was great. No breakfast was provided, but there are bars on the street. The day staff was very helpful. The room is very modest, but clean. The air conditioner was great.

Needs a good refurbishment.

The building is located opposite the cathedral in the heart of the city. It is a historic building, with no lift so not ideal for mobility problems. The furnishings are 80s style, and would need a refurbishment but it is clean. the reception staff were all very friendly and offered to keep our luggages until check-in and after check-out time. We did not have breakfast included but there are cafeterias everywhere.

Don't expect a Premier Inn! This is a very old historic building so don't expect too many luxuries. TV is tiny but I didn't use it, antiquated fridge in the middle of the room was noisy. Rooms could generally do with a refresh but they do have a certain charm

Very noisy. Not only do you get a fair amount of noise from the outside, but internally as well. The walls in the rooms don't go all the way up to the ceiling, so rooms aren't properly 'sealed'.

Excellent location, beds were more comfortable than expected. Got a room with an incredible view, right onto the cathedral. Would probably stay here again.

As some old buildings, it has some charm but some inconvenients, too, as the lack of elevator.

Incredible location just in front of the Duomo in the heart of the centro storico, in a quiet pedastrian street. Premises are old but clean and correct.

The hotel is a bit dated, I knew that but went for the location, excellent choice if you want to spend a night or two in the Centro Storico

Location, that’s the reason I picked this hotel, right on the Piazza del Duomo, with view on the square, good WiFi, close to good restaurants, equipment might seem insufficient but you get the charm of an historical building, staff was great and helpful, would definitely go them again for a short stay

Twice I saw cockroaches in the bathroom

I stayed in the hotel for the second time, I love the location, 10 min to the bus station or train station and all the sights are very close. The staff is friendly and helpful, small good restaurants next to the hotel.

Poor room facilities. Closet only for hanging things, without any shelves. No elevator in the facility.

Rather tired property needing refurb. Bad smell in bathroom with no noticeable extractor. (I pulled what I thought was a switch to operate an extractor fan but it transpired it was an emergency assistance alarm. The response arrived about 40 minutes after my shower!).

You can't find a better placed hotel in Catania. It is right on the Duomo square. Very kind and professional staff. Second time I stayed here. Asked to change my room, with outside window, and that was no problem. Got a room overlooking the square. Catania is very different from other towns. Very busy, young and attractive. I do recommend!

Run down. Electrics in the bathroom were dangerous.

Location is incredible. Overlooks the best square in Catania and very close to the airport bus stop. View from our room was breathtaking. Huge room. Very good value.
