Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

France-
Staying at Chiostro Dei Domenicani was a truly special experience. The property is set in a beautifully restored old convent, and the atmosphere perfectly balances historic charm with modern comfort. Everywhere you look, from the cloisters to the stone details, you can feel the history and elegance of the place. The staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. Their friendliness really enhanced the whole experience. We also had dinner one evening at the hotel’s restaurant - Gimmi, and it was exceptional. The food was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, easily one of the highlights of our trip. Overall, Chiostro Dei Domenicani is more than just a hotel: it’s a destination in itself. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This hotel is beautiful!!! We really enjoyed our stay. Gabriele and Sara from the front desk were so attentive and made us feel like we were home. It was a short stay of two nights but it was so perfect and we would love to go back. For sure a place to refer to family and friends if planning to go to Lecce!!

United KingdomThe bathroom had an unfortunate smell of drainage.. probably to do with plumbing. It’s not off putting but it’s not pleasant either. Some candles or diffusers would help.
The beautiful convent restored to a very high finish. Rooms are comfortable and spacious with a calming view over the courtyard. Having an amazing Michelin restaurant on site is a plus too.

United StatesWhile it did not bother us, some may find the walk to the Centro Storico to be a bit long as it is about 30 minutes if walking at a brisk pace. This was not an issue for us though and allowed us to walk off all the pasticiotti.
We loved our stay at Chiostro dei Domenicani. The property is truly unique and stunning. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is also very well done. We found parking to be effortless and the location to be great for exploring nearby beaches with our car.

United KingdomA place of this quality should offer Espresso machines in rooms not powdered coffee. Pool was nice but overlooked.
Beautiful and spacious. Very comfortable bed. Effective air conditioning (never to be taken for granted). Staff were all lovely. Especially Anna on reception. Excellent breakfast.

United StatesWould be nice if we can pull up the car to the hotel to drop off our bags
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Chiostro dei Domenicani, and it was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning architecture and rich history of the building. The ambiance is truly unique, making you feel like you are stepping back in time. A special mention goes to Anna, who welcomed us with warmth and professionalism. She was incredibly helpful, providing us with great tips for exploring the area and ensuring we felt right at home. Her friendliness made our arrival even more enjoyable. The breakfast experience was another highlight of our stay. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed to start our day off right. The selection was delightful, and it was a wonderful way to fuel up for our adventures in Lecce. Overall, our time at Chiostro dei Domenicani was unforgettable. The combination of historical charm, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. We can't wait to return!

United StatesA tad closer to the old town gates and a little more space around the swimming pool would have been nice.
Outstanding breakfast, huge room & bathroom (especially by European standards), beautiful grounds, spotless. You can see how monks used to build to last, and you can even see some of the old frescoes under the archways in the cloister. Would make an excellent venue site.

CanadaPlumbing didn't work great. No grab bars in handicapped room shower or near toilet. Could have used more leisure furniture in room. Two metal chairs were uncomfortable and desk was full of amenities and thus unusable as a desk.
Incredible renovations for a magnificent result. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Location good. All around a charming place.

NetherlandsLocation is nice but could have been a bit closer to the city center but parking was not a problem in the city. The breakfast/dining area has not much atmosphere.
We booked a room with terrace which was really nice. You could sit in the sunshine all day. Unfortunately we had a neighbour who thought it was a shared terrace so we had to ask him to leave. Beautiful old Monastery, beautiful furniture and decorations. Nice pool although it was not heated. Breakfast is amazing. Free parking on the street.

New ZealandThe wedding guests took over all the facilities so it did feel like you were intruding and we didn’t get to use the pool. It’s a bit of a walk to the town center but the hotel is worth it.
Lovely facilities, everything was so spacious. There was a wedding on so we were put in a room that was away from the noise which was great but meant we didn’t have a balcony. On our second night we were lucky enough to be there when the hotel was used for the venue of a candlelight concert as well so we were able to attend that at no cost which was a real treat. The breakfast had plenty of variety - best scrambled eggs and cuppacino! The staff were fabulous and so helpful.
