I asked for a quiet room and we got one that overlooked the inner courtyard / lightwell, so it was a bit dim. But that was probably my fault and other rooms have windows overlooking the street.

Perfect location, central but quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent and great value breakfast.

This small hotel is delightful. It's only one block from the centre of Ferrara, and so is ideal for the visitor. (Walking from the train station - some 15 mins away - was the most arduous part of my stay.) In a side street, the hotel is both very quiet and extremely comfortable. Breakfast, which is important to me, was relaxed and taken in a small room on the ground floor. Excellent, with delightful music (not muzak) playing in the background and coffee as you'd like it brought to your table. I was by myself on this trip, but would recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Ferrara. No question - I'd return without looking for any other place.

Being a 'Brit', I do like the option of tea & coffee facilities in the room, which I'm led to believe isn't typical throughout Europe so I can't really complain.

A traditional Italian hotel situated a stones throw away from Ferrara Castle. The room was very comfortable with an extra large bed, decent size bathroom and windows that you can open! The breakfast was a typical continental style and was very yummy. The fresh coffee was very tasty, just what I needed to get me through hours of boring presentations. There was also a good choice of fresh meats, fresh fruit, various pastries, cakes and cereals to choose from. The staff were very friendly and always willing to provide any help & guidance, always answering any questions I had. The room was cleaned everyday and new towels were provided daily, when I returned from work it was always immaculate, housekeeping did an amazing job so good that I even left a tip! I was with 40+ other people staying in Ferrara, many who had stayed at the Hotel de Pratti before told me that they really rated it, far more than the hotels (4*) in which they were staying - I highly recommended it!!

Better prepare an electronic water pot in the room. Of course, that won’t be a problem for western travelers, but for Chinese it’s a little bit uncomfortable without hot water to make tea.

The location of this hotel is very good. There is parking area nearby which costs 3 euros per day. You give the money to the owner and he will make the process of your permission to the ZTL zone.

The location is the best possible in the center of town, very close to the main sights of principal interest. The hotel is of the boutique type, family-run, atmosoheric, quiet, and friendly to guests. Ferrara is a very interesting city. But at the moment some of the major sites of historical and/or architectural interest are undergoing repair, including the Diamond Palace, the Cathedral (facade), and the 3 synagogues.

Family run hotel super location across road from Castello Estense. Taxi was €9 from train station. Old building sympathetically updated and decorated with flair. Very nice helpful people on reception - good suggestions. Room well fitted out but a bit dark. Snores from next door managed to percolate wall but in general quiet. Nice breakfast - cold buffet in Italian style with good coffee freshly made on request . Airport bus/fly 200 yards away €15. If staying a few days consider MyFe card €14 for 3 days - as well as free entries most museums/castle etc gets you no city tax for up to 2 nights (€4 per night per person) and €1.50 reduction on airport shuffle

In the first room given, even if for non smokers, one could smell the stink, luckly the hotel wasn't completely booked and we got a smell free room. Told them that in the US hotels charge guests who don't abide the rules. She seemed surprised (!) Being in the old town center, parking was far from the hotel and unload the car might prove challenging, but all in all it worked out. It would beneficial for 'outoftowners' to be aware if stores observe weekly half a day closures. In Ferrara is on Thursday afternoon (our luck!). Websites should add that info for all towns.

The mattress was firm as I like and the sheets were extra crisp and ironed and new and I slept well. Breakfast buffet was adequate, but the fresh home made coffee cake was like granny would bake it. Cappuccino was made to order and served at the table, even when a second cappuccino was asked. Staff was minimal but extremely efficient and courteous.
