    Liked everything

Cefalù is a wonderful medieval town and this B&B right on the seafront is in perfect keeping with the whole experience. It is as enchanting as the beautiful town it is in. There are lots of great reasonably priced restaurants where the sea laps just below your feet. Alternatively, if you want to sit on tha B&B’s terrace overlooking the sea, there are a couple of shops nearby to buy groceries and fresh fruit at great prices. They also make delicious paninis to your order from the ingeredients in the superbly stocked fridges - cheeses and meats galore. Swimming in clean, crystal-clear water is just a few minutes walk away. It’s all there! Antonio and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Getting there was a huge hassle. The directions provided for dropping luggage were unclear and we would urge anyone going there to make sure you know where the parking lot is - do NOT enter the town with your car. We drove into the city center and the streets got narrower and more packed with people - VERY stressful! We thought we could enter just to drop the bags, but it is not worth it. Just go park near the port (down a very big hill - hairpin turn) and wait for the guy with the little golf cart. It is worth E7 to get you, your family and bags safely to the hotel. The charge also applies to the return trip. Once in the town, it is very charming but we were exhausted after the mishap with the rental car.

The room was decent value for the money, and it was clean but small.

Everything great. The town itself is wonderful too. With a wonderful beach to boot. Went swimming. Lovely!

Brilliant location. The hotel seems to be cut into the cliff, and the rooms hang over the Mediterranean. Breathtaking. Everything extremely clean, fresh, beautiful. Staff very helpful. Parking very easy at Port down below; then the hotel sends a little electric car to collect you. Very well organized.

Parking is a long walk, not 15 minutes as described on Booking.com. If you are between the ages of 18 - 30, you could do it, 30 - 40, maybe, but you probably have the 7 euro [each way] for a shuttle, 40+ don't think about walking. The owner was not on the property when we arrived at 6:00 pm and did not return a request for a phone call [busy in meeting]. He [Antonio] left a note, which appeared to be a standard practice, of being in a meeting. On checkout, a permanent sign said 'credit card machine not working', so you had to pay cash [however if you miss arrival your card would be charged!!]. No in-house breakfast but a coupon for one coffee and pastry down the street.

The sea terrace. The room was fine.

We found Dolce Vita perfect in all respects, starting from the very friendly and helpful but no-nonsense manager who helped us. Why so? The location was at the hear of town and a short walk from the beach; our double room (including the bathroom with shower) was beautiful, comfortable, well-kept and clean; there's an unbeatable view from the seaside roof-top terrace; for breakfast you get coupons for tasty coffee and delicious croissants at a cafe on the square overlooking the cathedral.

Breakfast process was not explained at check in (what times, which cafe to go to etc.) The bed was very hard and the pillows were sparse. It was difficult to find staff to answer my questions. I would’ve preferred to be placed in a sea facing room as I was there for 5 days not just overnight.

Initial confusion over whether breakfast was included or not. If it had been included it is not at the property but about 100m away at a piazza. All that is fine but perhaps it could be clearer when you book.

Good location near to restaurants and the sea. Great view from the balcony outside the room. Parking is challenging in Cefalu (like many historic town centres) but the property had some good suggestions. It appears it is not possible to park closer than a 15 minutes walk.

    Nothing!

We had booked a double room, but were given an apartment right on the sea where we had a tiny, extremely private balcony and incredible sea views. Our room was right above the restaurant mentioned so negatively by another reviewer - but we didn't find it a problem at all. They were not open in the early morning, so did not wake us, and most evenings were finished by 11pm. They did not have noisy music, just the sound of people enjoying good food and company. The staff at Dolce Vita were lovely - unfailingly pleasant and helpful - and taxis, excursions, transfers etc are efficiently booked at reception. It is simple, good, family-run accommodation staffed by people who know about proper hospitality. As they were apparently the first B&B to open in Cefalu 12 years ago, they are obviously doing something right! People with restricted mobility should note that there are 2 floors of stairs to climb, but the staff helped us with our luggage.

It met my needs as a budget traveler.

This is a family run budget bed and breakfast. Breakfast is coffee and a croissant at the cafe bar in the main square just a few mins walk away. The room was a good size with windows facing the terrace and glimpses of the sea. The shower was small with just a curtain so it's hard to stop water on the floor. Location was perfect, easy walk from the train station and just off the main street. It was very quiet when I was there so can't comment on noise from other guests or the street.

When the only thing you can think of is perhaps that there could be some parasols on the sundeck then you know it has been an excellent stay!

The owner, the rooms and overall atmosphere, at La Dolce Vita, were fantastic. The sun terrace is home to one of the finest sunsets we saw on our trip. Although it is right in the hub of Cefalu, which in August is pretty busy, this B&B felt like an oasis of calm. The owner and his nephew are helpful, friendly and very pleasant. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was served in an resturang near by and it was Italian -just Cappuccini and a sweet croissant. The landlord helpt us to get toast and juice !!

The room had a beatiful view over the roofs of Cefalu and the sea and the terass was wonderful! The place was perfect if you like a small and quit B&B with nice personal.

Small bathroom, the parking is far, there is no possibility to park the car for free

The B&B is in the middle of the city. Clean room and bathroom, breakfast at the square in front of the Dome, nice owner. You can use the terrace - really pleasant for evening sitting after long day.

    Mattress was not very comfortable

Rooms were basic, but comfortable enough. Clean. Nice balcony overlooking the water (we bought breakfast and ate it up there)

Staff are usually out so hard to comment on their service. Bathroom slightly cramped. Didn't have a view but I guess it was cheap.

Perfect location, cozy bedroom and comfortable. Good value for money in spring. Roof terrace has some amazing views.

Antonio who checked us in was welcoming and friendly! The room would benefit from a bit of updating in terms of decor but it was clean and spacious. The town itself was touristic but with lots of charm.

I had a feeling that the staff did not try hard enough. The guys were very nice and friendly but it felt like this B&B was running on it's reputation from the travel guides and did not have to try hard. It felt a little overrated and lacked personal touch.

The location is great, best place you can be in Cefalu, right in the historic centre, few minutes from the cathedral and close to the main attractions yet short walk from the beach. We had a very spacious room, very nicely decorated, with a view onto a beautiful, typical old street. You could sit on the balcony and watch the life go by below you, yet you would not get any noise at night with the shutters closed. The breakfast is not served at the hotel but at a beautiful and exceptionally good quality café/bakery in the cathedral square, which is a very nice touch, even thought it is only a coffee and pastry. I would strongly recommend that bakery for trying the typical Sicilian sweets - it is of a high quality. The terrace overlooking the sea was lovely and you can watch a perfect sunrise from it early in the morning! The fact that there is no parking is not a problem. During certain hours of the day you can drive up to the hotel and offload your luggage, then park free at the port and walk back as a part of sightseeing. There is no need for the car in Cefalu as the hotel is well situated, central to everything.

We had to park our car several kilometers away from the hotel at the public parking lot in the Porto and take a "navetta" to the hotel. This wasn't clear from the listing in Booking.com.

The central location in Cefalù can't be beat.

Parking is a little difficult: we parked 10 minutes away on foot and paid 10 euros for 12 hours. Breakfast is Ok but just drink and croissant: don't expect a full buffet. However it is typically Italian so not really a problem.

Family suite with 2 rooms plus bathroom was basic but fine, with air conditioning, wifi, fridge. Room faced on to terrace, wonderful sea views, quiet. Helpful staff. Good location in historic town centre. Cathedral two minutes away.
