Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelWe had a room on the second floor. The elevator is only accessible for the first floor, so we had to take our luggage by stairs to the second floor. No problem for us but maybe for some.
The best location to explore Siena! Clean room and good breakfast. Amazing view from the room on the second floor. The guy at the reception recommended us a very good local restaurants

BrazilThe shower is very bad. The space is somehow claustrophobic and the temperature of the water kept changing (too hot, too cold). The hotel needs some modernization (the carpet is so old it gives an aspect of being dirty). The elevator is very small and is not enough to meet the demand of all guests, so it is important to keep in mind that climbing some stairs (the hotel is on the 2nd floor) will be inevitable.
We stayed in a bedroom that bad a balcony with an amazing view of the city. I would also highlight the kindness of the lady working on the reception. The breakfast is also good.

AustraliaThe breakfast was very ordinary - don’t bother with it. Our room smelt of smoke and had paint peeling from the walls. The bathroom power point didn’t work.
The location is excellent, right near the Duomo. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and knowledgeable.

United KingdomThe location was amazing, just 5 min away from piazza del Campo and Duomo. You can reach the hotel by your car and take out your luggage. The staff were amazing, accommodating, and friendly. The room view was amazing and the hotel itself brings you to the medieval vibe of Siena. The breakfast was very good and the waiter was very fast. The hotel is right in the center where all the shops and restaurants are. If I come back to Siena I will book this hotel again.

PortugalMore as useful tip, the stairs are a bit narrow. For me this is ok, but If you have some disability try to book a bedroom located at the lift floor.
The location couln't be better! At the heart of Sienna. The room had a wonderful view to the cathedral. The staff was nice and really helpful, providing all the information about best places to park, for example. It has also a friendly outside terrace where you can relax. The breakfast was also really good and diverse.

United States of AmericaWhile I appreciated the notifications about driving into the city (you can only go in one gate), we received numerous messages saying the same thing in the lead up to our stay - one or two would have sufficed. I didn’t mind, but you might find the showers a bit odd - only a curtain and nothing else separates shower space from rest of bathroom.
Great location - from the hotel you can walk throughout the city. Room was spacious and comfortable (not fancy). Great view from my room. Breakfast was standard (if you don’t need a big breakfast, I’d suggest a pastry and coffee at a cafe instead). Front desk staff were very helpful. You can park at the hotel for a fee, and they’ll valet the car, which is nice because the streets are one way and tiny.
