Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsA minor detail was the showerhead, which was leaking a bit. Other than that, there is not much to complain about this hotel.
I stayed here for two nights in mid April. For visiting Cinque Terre, the location is probably the best you can get in La Spezia. Its about 50 meters from the train station. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a surprisingly good restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpfull.

Location close to the train station. Helpful, smiling staff. Cleanliness and size of the room. Crisp white bed sheets. Smart modern breakfast room. Plenty of options available for breakfast. Easy check in and out.

United KingdomBreakfast was ok, but was not impressed you had to pay for "extras". Typical examples being 8 Euros for a fried egg or 5 Euros for fresh orange juice !!!!
Excellent location for train station. Beautiful hotel. Excellent room, with superb glazing (which was needed as room backed onto busy road).

MaltaThe host at breakfast could not cope with the demands during peak. I recommend allocating more than one so guests do not have to wait to be seated or to order their coffee or fresh orange juice

United KingdomWould have like tea and coffee option in the room. On the Sunday it rained really heavy and was unable to get a drink or anything to eat around lunchtime. Adjoining bar doesn’t open until 6pm which wasn’t great, could really have done with a hot drink at least.
Convenient for the station, clean, friendly staff, breakfast was delicious, lots of choice.

MexicoThe hotel seems to be past its prime, so it has tiny elevators but hotestly, that is not a deal breaker.
The location could not have been better. It was minutes from the main station, which allowed us to hop a train and explore Cinque Terre. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable (except for the pillows). The bathroom in the lobby (and the bar attached) next door, were so beautiful and modern.

NetherlandsThe walls were a bit thin and the elevator was very small.
The hotel is perfectly situated next to the train station. Staff was very friendly. It was possible to store our luggage at the day of checkout. Breakfast was decent. Rooms were clean. We got a free upgrade.

Hong KongWhen I checked in, I got a wifi informant. After I reached my room, I wanted to use wifi. However, the username and password of wifi were not found. I have tried so many times but unsuccessful. I tried to call the reception but no number was found to call. I had to go down after a long and tiring day. When I told about this problem, the same female staff said, “i know, I know.” I wanted to tell her that if you knew you gave me a wrong info, why don’t you call my room??? I was quite upset as I really spent a long time to connect wifi so I showed my long face. Finally, the staff said sorry and gave me a correct wifi information. This is very disappointing and not professional at all. The shower box is very tiny and I had difficulty to take a shower although I am not a big size.
Location is very good and convenient. When I dropped my suitcase in the morning, the female staff is very kind.

United States of AmericaThe block around hotel only had two restaurants both fine dining one being a steak house and a small convenience store. Eat dinner before you come back to hotel if you want options.
Nice breakfast buffet but a little pricey if you just want coffee and toast. Right across the street from the train station which is perfect if going to Cinque Terre or other day trips
