Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyI booked a stay with this place because it had breakfast was included, which ended up being a cup of coffee. It was also not easy to find the B&B, I had to eventually call the number to get more precise directions.

Also we had to pay 10€/ person more, which was not mentioned on booking.com So please be informed that you will spend additional money on breakfast which you will be buying by yourslef and on apartment renting. AustraliaThey tried to charge us the taxes separately upon arrival, we had to point out to them that this was already included as part of the amount already paid - showed booking.com. There was conjecture. I contacted host (as was not greeted by them) but got no response. Did not pay, disappointed that did the right thing but got no response. Lift was Out of Order, we were 7 flights up. Should of got some discount. 7 flights is a lot to climb when one is a tourist and already walking all day. Was offered free towels- ummmm no, they are already included in price.
Location to centre of town was great. Clean.

He confirm with me on WhatsApp that there was an ac but then when I arrived there wasn’t an ac. I had to book another place with different platform. Never I will use booking.com never ever!

Chinathe manager/boss of this apartment works and lives with his wife next to my room. every morning around7-8am, there will be noise like hard thing drops on the table from them. also I recommend the tenants always lock your room, no matter you wash hands or pea, else the staff will visit your empty room quietly and place trash into your shoes. also the staff/boss will smoke in shared toilet randomly in morning ,eg.7am, if you don't like the smell pls avoid using toilet after smoking time. and staff/boss can pea without flushing afterwards, with urine on toilet cover,etc.

ItalyThe host did not pay city taxes and asked to pay cash (basically paying off the books and possibly not paying VAT, too). Even if we paid for our stay and we spent our night there as expected, the host marked the booking as a no-show.
Right in the city's center, perfect for a night's stay. TV has Netflix and that's a great treat. The shared restroom seems clean. The beds are slightly stiff but nothing major; overall the quality is great and I slept well.
