Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

We really loved this place and Miss Gaia was so accommodating. We didn't know about the events going on those days we were there and she told us everything. She checked up on us if everything was fine. The apartment was soooo spacious and modern. It has everything you'll need even laundry detergent and spices. It was really close to the train station as well and a few minutes walk to downtown and the bay area so the tours to Cinque Terre were easy either by boat or by train. If we ever go back in the future we'll definitely book with Ms. Gaia again.

United KingdomA negative would be that it is on the 5th floor and has a tiny lift so with 3 young children we did multiple trips.

CanadaVery comfortable and clean. The host met us outside and explained the area. The location is perfect. The train station is only minutes away for the cinque terre or anywhere else you want to go. Retail and restaurants are also very close. The entire place was also very quiet - no street / train noise. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

IndonesiaCan't express how much we appreciate Gaia for her help. We were almost stuck at La Spezia when the national train strike occurred and Gaia was really helpful. Her place is in perfect condition - everything was carefully thought out and arranged with a high attention for guests needs. Also thanks to Nicola for his warm welcome. Really recommend this place to everyone.

United StatesMy first impression of the walk from the train station was great except the last block off the Main Street that felt a little industrial. It was very safe but utilitarian. It wasn't an issue once we settled. Super convenient location overall.
The property is very conveniently located, very short walk from the train station. It is also near the main pedestrian streets of historic area that flow to the harbor. We took trains or ferries to explore Cinque Terre and Porto Venere areas. The building is very nice too: spacious and clean with grand staircases. There is an elevator. To say that the property was super clean won't be enough: it is all brand new and pristine. Apartment is huge, renovation as if from TV show: smart and tasteful and a lot of high end touches. There are two bathrooms, so luxurious. Kitchen and dining area are huge. There is a living room which we hardly used. Hallway with nice size closet. As others pointed out it is very quiet, you don't know that you are close to the train station. There are washer and dryer (which was very important for me), all modern and clean. The communication with the owner was great. We met the owner at arrival and departure: very polite and friendly and accommodating. We had very comfortable and pleasant stay. I recommend Golfo dei Poeti Retreat without reservations.

CanadaWe liked everything about this apartment. There are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment but there is a lift, so shouldn’t be an issue.
This was a very clean, exceptionally well-appointed apartment in a good location, close to the town centre, the train station, and the ferry terminal. It was modern, had great coffee, and our lovely hostess arranged great parking for €20 a day and she left us some nice Prosecco to enjoy!

Great location, only minutes from the train station. Immaculately clean. Gaia is a lovely and responsive host. We had a quick stay in La Spezia to see Cinque Terre between our longer stays in Florence and Rome and it was so relaxing to stay in an apartment that was actually quiet!

CanadaThe place was spotless and very conveniently located relative to the station as a base to visit cinq terre. We felt safe walking to and fro. We were very lucky to find this place and land here. The rooms were spacious and well laid out. There were very thoughtful touches throughout the rooms and top notch furnishings/appliances - it truly was like being at home. Yes it was on an upper floor but that meant little outside noise and bonus using the elevator now and then. The host was very helpful providing information, maps and and surprise welcome gifts! Truly lovely.

AustraliaThis isn’t a negative, just a note to say the bedroom doesn’t have block out curtains so pack an eye mask if this is an issue for you. I had an eye mask with me so experienced no issues.
We loved everything about our stay here! The location was right near the train station but away from the crowds and Gaia was amazing at helping us whoever we needed. Our apartment was so spacious and we found ourselves eating dinner there most nights as it was so comfortable. I definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to explore the Cinque Terre!

This is the prettiest apartment we stayed at in Italy 😍 Gaia is a very gracious host, and welcomed us warmly with a bottle of prosecco to boot. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were luxe, and facilities worked perfectly. Location is also topnotch! A great homebase for visiting Cinque Terre. We were all glad we booked this, instead of staying in one of the five towns.
