Our room was very small, which wasn't too bad as we were only there to sleep. My teenage daughter and I had a twin room, we are not overly tall, around 170cm, but her feet dangled over the end of her bed. It may just have been our room, but the adjoining wall was very thin and woke us several times.

Central location, a short walk to the centre of Milan. The property offers very inexpensive Bed and Breakfast with complimentary items in the room fridge. Breakfast was a variety of both hot and cold dishes which sets you up for a day of exploring.

+our room was very small for two single beds (apx. 10 sqm), the mattresses too hard +it was loud, just simple glass in the window; window in the bathroom did not close properly +furniture and bathroom are quite old and worn-out +definitely an elderly 3-star-hotel that did not meet our expectations: why all these exaggerated critics?

+the location is excellent, 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral +a historical place with a nice atmosphere +mostly friendly staff +clean, good breakfast (for this category and Italy) +free soft drinks in the minibar

Our room (110) looked Big, but with long corridor between Bathroom and Bed., well, actually this was OK, but not OK if you need extra bed or more than 2 big luggage to put in. The Charger plug points were all on window side opposite the Bed, so very inconvenient.

Perfect Quiet Location, 5 min walk to Duomo. Excellent Staff, Replenishable Free Mini Bar (non alcoholic items). Picked up few Antique items from the Sunday Morning Flea Market ( ~9am to ~1.00pm) just 1 minute away outside/around the Hotel, near and around Main post office (such flea market was bit of a pleasant discovery/surprise).

It is a bit hidden away, so there isn't a view from any of the rooms, although this also makes it quiet, which for us is a positive feature.

The hotel is centrally located, a very short walk to most of the tourist things you'll want to see downtown - the Duomo, La Scala and other theatres, shopping at the Galleria, Monte Napoleone and De la Spiga, and the staff in the hotel are very helpful in providing directions. The room was nicely appointed, had a good bed with very nice sheets, and excellent bathroom facilities. Spotlessly clean. A good breakfast buffet is provided. There are good restaurants all around, including the touristy pricey ones in the Galleria. A great hotel that deserves more than 3 stars!

Wonderfully located in the centre of lovely Milan, next door to the Ambrosiana, in walking distance of La Scala and the Duomo, but very quiet. Breakfasts were excellent. We made two visits within a few days and were helped by the staff at the hotle by being able to leave some of our luggage while we went to the South Tirol for the weekend for a conference.

We personally prefer a walk-in shower to a shower over the bath, but the second option is probably a good one for a hotel where space is a bit limited.

This was our second stay at the hotel. As before, we were extremely impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their helpfulness. The rooms have been upgraded since our last visit, and they have been done well. The bar is a nice relaxing bonus (thanks Marco) and the breakfasts are good. The hotel is situated right in the heart of Milan, close to the Cathedral. It has a beautiful appearance, and is not "too big". If I return to Milan I won't look for any other accommodation:I'll stay at the Hotel Gran Duca Di Youk again

Nothing really. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely character hotel - beautiful entrance and lobby. Spacious comfortable room kept nice and cool when temperatures were around 34 outside! Easy to walk to the cathedral and main centre but also close to traditional restaurants in older parts. Excellent stay.

Wonderful accommodating staff - when we had cancelled flights they were able to change the reservation with the assistance of Booking.com and welcomed us when we finally arrived. Really excellent location for Metro access to the MiCo and to historic sites. Excellent neighborhood restaurants close by.

A gem of a place in the very heart of Milan. Feels like a little palazzo, a quiet oasis yet located only a very short, pleasant walk to all the main sights of this surprisingly special city. Look forward to staying there again!! The staff is great too, and so is the buffet breakfast. Mille grazie to everyone, and especially to Alice for making our stay extra special.

Location superb--a most helpful, friendly staff. Nice room-- but like all older "historic" hotels-- on smallish side. That said, I'd go back again.

The bathroom was a little small and the glass shower door wasn't wide enough so water would get on the floor. But it did have all of the amenities that are needed. Great hairdryer.

Great location within walking access to shopping and metro. No street noise. Alessandro, at the front desk, was very helpful to this American tourist.

Nothing... this hotel got everything right !!

Fantastic, friendly and professional staff and amenities for a small hotel. Staff always went above expectations to ensue guests have a most comfortable stay. Excellent breakfast and service by staff, rooms extremely clean, comfy beds, roomy with extra touches such as slippers, gowns, irons, fridges and plenty of storage space not often found in Italian hotels. Good placement of light switches and functionality of room features. And of course.. the location just minutes from the Duomo.

I was not crazy about the immediate area surrounding the hotel, which seems to be the financial district of Milan. It's close to a very touristy area near the Duomo where there are plenty of Italian cafes, but there were not many options for authentic, good Italian restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel recommended the Osteria Borromei, and we had a perfectly fine meal there, but it was full of tourists. I would return to this hotel, but would prefer it if it were in a neighborhood with more character.

As many others have noted, the hotel is very convenient to the Duomo and central shopping districts. The bed was comfortable, shower was good, and staff were very pleasant. It was also very quiet.

There is not a lot not to like. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the air conditioner struggled but it was summer and high humidity.

The staff were wonderful; they could not have been more helpful. The hotel is charming and in a great location. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom spotlessly clean and despite being in the heart of Milan absolutely quiet at night. And the bar area downstairs is just lovely and a great way to wind down at the end of a day of sightseeing.
