We can understand why you can not use the pool when there is no staff, but with good wheather closing time was to early and opening time to late ...

The hotel has a very stunning location: watching the sun ste down in the sea is a dream. The hotel is very comfortable with a big bonus of the very nice swimming pool. Breakfast was very good, we had a good bed. There were not many guests when we were there, I can imagine that with a full house that would by a crowded place and that experience would be less.

Central hall, bar and dining area are not very atmospheric but rather kitschy. The view from the room is beautiful, but the hotel is in the middle of nowhere so when you want to go out for dinner or so, you will have to take your car.

Nice and professional staff, spacious room, clean, large balcony with a beautiful view. Everything worked well.

The staff in the restaurent - arrogant and not taking notice of guest when you are not having " the full Italian meal ".

The pool is not really full Olympic-size as advertised, but rather 25m long (which is still nice for distance swimming). Furnishings are a bit outdated.

Beautiful views from the balcony. The bed was quite comfortable. The breakfast was decent with both sweet and savory items.

Unwelcoming staff, dingy room, view of dead brush, no internet kind of a mess. We left early as we hated the place--so far from everything--we were charged 13 e for 1 round trip into town We were awoken at 12:30 wth fireworks. Hallways smelled, old and stained carpeting and walls. Room was nothing like picture on internet

As a 70 year old I didn't like the things put on for the young people, with pounding music all round the pool area around 6 pm

Staff spoke good English, mainly Italian clientel. Pool great, breakfast great

More fresh fruits for breakfast. The restaurant could improve with more local dishes and bigger portions.

The staff and their big efforts to let us enjoy our stay. Very Good animation.

A very beautiful place! We had room 740 the best view of the whole place. Great big pool for swimming. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was ok. Would go back.

Breakfast too poor and not good quality. Check in was too late and check out too early. The bedroom was too old and not so clean. The hotel is far from beaches so you always need a car

    1. Far from the beach, you must take a shuttle service to the beach every day. The shuttle service stops for 2 hours during lunch time. 2. You can't control air conditioning from the room. Someone at the reception has to shut down air conditioning for you. 3. Long queues at the reception. 4. Our rate included a welcome drink which we never received

Good property and rooms Nice private beach

Yikes, the twists and turns of the mountain to get to the hotel were exciting with fabulous views and treacherous switchbacks but visiting the port, centro and beaches at night proceed with caution!

Very outdated bathroom, as well as some other areas of the hotel. Food at dinner was OK, although not much variety in the menu. Absolutely no vegetables for breakfast.

Nice view overlooking the sea and the hill with the statue of Chtist Redentore.

Shame that when Weddings are held here ( which obviously pulls in a lot of money!) that the pool and area is out of use. This happened to us 2 out of 4 days. The shuttle to the Private beach is a brilliant addition- but occasionally just being able to laze by the pool is preferable

Huge grand entrance foyer- all the staff were lovely - we speak a little Italian, but they were happy to find a member of staff to speak English

An excellent choice of items for a satisfying continental breakfast. The lifts were prompt and easily available. Despite a large wedding being held during our stay, the bedroom areas remained noisefree. We'd happily return for a longer stay. A place to return to especially as Maratea and the surrounding areas are superb.

I would expect to receive a notice about a large conference in the time of reservation.

Good place with nice view. Usually should be satisfying, not easy to access. Avoid coming when they host Rotary conference or other large meeting.

Lots of problems with the air conditioning; overall the property needs updating. You're at the mercy of the shuttle service schedule unless you dare to drive the hairpin roads to dinner and exploring. Food at the hotel was okay, not great.

Great location on the hill overlooking the sea! Very close to Christ the Redeemer statute, beaches and town.

It was windy when we arrived. It was a bit too cold to swim in the pool.

The Grand hotel is certainly very large spacious and grand. There is a huge marble lobby and the rooms are an excellent size as well. Every room has an amazing view. The beach gas easy access by shuttle down a VERY steep private road. The restaurant staff were great at both dinner and breakfast was extensive. Excellent value for money hotel.

Easier when having a car around, especially if you wish to travel. The hotel runs a shuttle service (free of charge to the hotel's beach but charges service to the old town and port).

Old fashion style hotel with a great atmosphere. Very well maintained, clean, large rooms and nice breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location on mountain top with one of the most beautiful beaches in the area of Maratea.

I have never been to shocked at watching families taking so much food on plates and watching them make up lunches to take out and put in bags. Rolls rarely available as gone, bread was limited. fresh fruit fine. Had to keep asking for cutlery and glasses as always run out. Tighter control by staff in the dining room to stop the Italian groups take food away as it left those who went down to breakfast after 9 with little and limited choice . we also complained about music being so loud that we have recorded it from a wedding party. Working in tourism I understand that weddings are a business but obviously those who have paid for a holiday do not seem to be the main interest of this hotel as we complained at 01.45 am to turn the music down, it is normal in this country for music to be turned off at midnight but the volume in the early hours of the night not allowing residents to sleep is disgusting treatment..... we had been offered a room change after our 2nd night to one floor above due to noise of dancing groups on tour that left bags kits outside the rooms and tripped over kids on the floor outside the lifts. As we were only staying for 4 nights it was not worth moving. The move would not have made any difference with the music from the wedding disco on the 3rd night. We have recorded this. Be warned do not staying here if you are aware of wedding parties unless you wish to participated with disco music your selves in your room.

pool and views and room - a shame this hotel has great prospects with its views, location, brilliant bus service and also free to the beach etc, driver friendly, staff on reception friendly but ruined by noise totally disappointed - working in tourism myself for 25 years in Italy in an area geared to wedding functions hotels where I work have respect also to guests in house but not here
