Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne or two minor glitches, e.g. the safe wasn’t working on arrival and took a couple of days to fix, and tiny amount of milk provided in the room.
Very helpful staff; large, quiet and very comfortable room; excellent location close to the station (we were travelling by train) but near to the old city centre. Excellent breakfast.

United States of AmericaPirate garden was closed! Didn’t realize there was a playground on site but that would have been amazing for our kids.
Hotel was beautiful and felt high end the second you walk in. We stayed 4 nights and it was easy to get around the city from the hotel. We walked most places but took buses and metro when tired. Room was large with comfy beds. Breakfast was wonderful every morning… so many choices. The lobby bar was also great— they can make a great cocktail. Hotel was very accommodating to our two young children.

SwitzerlandHotel is located right beside the Principe train station and is well placed for access to the port, shops and museums. Staff are very helpful, friendly and discreet. Guests have access to all of the amenities one would expect from a hotel of this standard: spa, sunny roof terrace with views across the city and port, on site restaurants, cosy bar and lounge areas, very good breakfast. Will definitely return!

FinlandLittle bit old style and smell downstairs was not so enjoyable. If you are looking for oldkindofGenova feeling - it is a good place to stay. Even Pianobar was there - only that we were only guests that moment and little bit too loud playing to enjoy our glass of wine.
Breakfast was good and really enjoyed it. Good start for the day. Room was spacious and had all we needed. Plus is always to accept bigger well behaving dogs.

SwitzerlandThe location could not be better if you come by train to Genoa. The train station is two minutes away on foot, which is super convenient. The hotel has old-fashioned flair with modern touches. The superior rooms are spacious, with great linens and towels. Impeccable housekeeping. The hotel is within walking distance from the historic centre of Genoa - easy to access all the palaces, museums and sights. Many restaurants and cafés nearby. The hotel's Trattoria Tratralêro is excellent with traditional Genoese cuisine. I highly recommend going.

ItalyThe hotel was right beside the train station which made it perfect for viewing Genoa as well as Cinque Terre. The staff were so friendly and the hotel was beautiful. I'm a huge fan of architecture and Grand Hotel Savoia was a dream for me. My husband and I stayed at the bar a lot simply because the atmosphere was luscious. I would highly recommend this hotel.

KazakhstanThe style is outdated. Lots of decorative stuff just taking up space in corridors and rooms. Infrastructure and amenities in rooms and common areas are tired and worn out at times. By day 2 of my stay I was fully immersed in the "Grand Hotel Budapest" movie scene.
A hotel with great history behind. Breakfast is awesome.
