Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Not very private. The windows in my room opened onto a balcony area used to dry laundry so there were frequently staff standing right outside my windows. The bathroom window also only had a light net curtain so if you showered at night, it wouldn't offer much privacy.
The shared bathroom facilities were better than expected and very clean. I liked that there was a sink in the bedroom. It was also not as noisy as I expected in such a busy area. The staff were very friendly and the location was really convenient.

The location was a perfect distance from the train station, so we didn't have to worry about finding additional transportation from there. We loved the friendliness of the staff, and how willing they were to make accommodations for us to stay an extra night.

Our room had a balcony that was shared and people passed by all the time and the noises were very loud but they weren't so early so it's fine

Some basic ameneties were missing in the room & bathroom. No electric keatle for hot water in the room but was available in common area. Toilet roll holder was missing in bathroom, toilet rolls were kept on small stool.
Location was good. Hotel & Room was cleaned. Hotel staff was good specially old lady at reception. Room size was ok. Ok.

If you are assigned a room upstairs, you need to cross the kitchen/dining room space that connects to some rooms on the right after the stairs. There was a small leak under the sink, I had to use a towel to try help it (but I didn't report to admin either as I found out 1 day before checking out).
The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They speak Italian and English, I don't know about other languages. The room was clean and included what was described. There is a small kitchen that has a kettle, a toaster, a microwave oven, a sink and all the plates, glasses, and cutlery that you need.

The difficult to close door in one of the bathrooms.
Location was the best. Only wish the rooms had private toilets but apart from that, all very good.

No one to help take suitcases down.
The location is easily accessible. Someone helped us carry suitcases up the steep long staircase. The staff were friendly and helpful.

In the room we stayed, the internet was not working properly and the place where we put the shower head was broken, but everything was very nice.
The location and the attention of the staff was very good, they also told us that we could keep our luggage there temporarily while checking out, which made us very happy.

The room was a bit smaller in size but for the price we paid I think it's good enough.
The receptionist was friendly she took her timeout to help us out with getting our invoice document for the Schengen visa application, she is a kind, warm lady. The room was cosy with two beds. It's located in the prime location of Venice. The receptionist lady was helpful with providing us with a charger for my friend as he missed bringing the right adapter for his mobile.
