The location of the Hotel Forum is perfect for a visit to Pompeii. The restaurant was excellent. The hotel staff was very accommodating. My husbands luggage was lost. They helped locate clothes until luggage could be delivered. Very helpful.

My only main criticism is that some of the staff weren't so friendly and helpful, as said under positives some were nice... But for example when I arrived after a long journey down on the train and carrying my luggage to the hotel the girl at the desk was fairly dismissive when I walked in, didn't offer to help with my bags and talked to me as though I should somehow already know where breakfast and dinner was served, just be nice if all the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, not just some of them. This tarnished my arrival at the hotel, but after that things were better. Also my Spaghetti Carbonara on my last night in the restaurant, the pasta was undercooked, surprising considering the quality of the rest of the food.

The location of the hotel is perfect being so close to the entrance of the Pompeii ruins. The room was nice and modern and very comfortable! The restaurant is also very good, I ate here all 3 nights, very nice sitting in the garden area for your meals!! Good breakfast too! Some of the staff were friendly and helpful

Restaurant menu was quite good, but not the best around (go to Four Seasons restaurant is amazing for food) Not to do with the hotel - as soon as you hit the main road there are people with “Tourist Information” they will say they are going to give you a free map, then badger you about going up Vesuvius or on another tour. They’re all up and down the main roads and will call out at you constantly, though it’s better in the evening. If you do take the bus up to Vesuvius, know that they will then charge you an extra 10 Euro/person to walk further than the entry gate. If you don’t pay for the walk around the crater you’re essentially stranded in a holding area on the volcano for an hour or more. It’s not at all worth it.

Excellent location for seeing the ruins, right across from the entry On a main road, but the entry, rooms, restaurant, and gardens were set back a little and provided a calm get away from the busy streets Staff were excellent Facilities were excellent Beds are very comfortable Breakfast included - very accommodating for allergies and dietary restrictions

    Nothing.

Breakfast was good. I liked the hard boiled eggs and homemade items. The coffee was perfect. Staff helped me open a bottle of wine and gave me wine glasses to drink it in. They also, called a taxi to take me to Pompeii. Wifi was good. Staff also made dinner recommendations. They also tried to help me with instructions to catch the bus for the Trail of the Gods, which was actually quite complicated. They gave me extra towels. The balcony view was beautiful. They also stored our luggage until check-in time. I liked the hotel slippers, perfect for travel.

My room had not been fully upgraded. After a long day at the ruins, I took a shower, but I was unable to turn off the shower. The staff reassigned me to another room (small but attractive and upgraded), and the next day to a luxurious, fully upgraded room the next day. (I stayed 2 nights, which I highly recommend to give the ruins the focus they merit.) So, my room experience was mixed

The hotel is right across from the entrance to the Pompeii ruins, so could not be better situated. The staff are wonderful and helpful. I had several issues (losing by backpack, the shower malfunctioning) and they couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. (My backpack was found by the police and brought to the hotel!)

Selection of dinner dishes was really small; everything we tried was fresh and very tasty but some more variety would have been appreciated.

Location outstanding-right outside one of the entrances to Pompei Roman site; really clean and comfortable although slightly tired (scratched walls). Staff really helpful and friendly (although they did argue a lot amongst themselves in front of clients, part of the Neapolitan charm I'm sure). Good breakfast but really reduced selection in restaurant in off-season. Best experienced at another time of the year than February, probably.

The parking is a bit odd as you need to walk up to a nearby pay and park and park your car. It’s free but on premise parking would have been a boon.

When booking this hotel you may expect to get a modern room similar to the pics you see. The standard of room which you get in reality is not nearly as nice. Nothing really wrong with the room we got but it doesn’t feel good when expectation does not match reality. The rest of the hotel was fine though and the staff were very friendly.

The beds felt like rocks, too uncomfortable to sit and read in. The rooms are small and tired. Some have a balcony others have nothing. Our small bathroom was retrofitted with a shower stall in the tub, it is so high that we all had problems climbing in and out. The towels were well worn, none of the fluffy white ones associated with a 4 star, these were grey, frayed and thin and scratchy. We had a sky light in the bathroom, the wall up to the opening and the window itself were filthy, years of filth by the looks of it. This seems to currently be one of the few 'good,' hotels in the area, and let's face it you don't typically visit that area to stay in the room. Do be aware though that a few of the rooms are directly over some shop fronts two of which are all day and late into the night bar / cafes, with music pumping up through the floor which drove us crazy when trying to sleep.😜

Hotel was probably a solid 3 star then added the necessary touches to tick the necessary boxes to make it a 4 star but the age and condition of the place where those 'touches' didn't reach made it a borderline 2/3 star place. That said, the location was excellent straight across to the secondary entrance to Pompeii. The garden was even nicer than advertised, it was full of lemon trees as well as a beautiful pergola with green and red grapes growing on top of them. So peaceful and inviting. You can eat out there or have a drink or even just sit and relax.

The plumbing system seemed rather dated.

First, the location of the hotel is excellent, as it is only about a two-minute walk to Pompeii's back entrance. The hotel is also on a street with a lot of shops and nearby restaurants. Second, the hotel itself is very classy. The grounds are peaceful and beautifully maintained, and contain a courtyard with several fruit trees and overhanging vines. Our room was spacious, and the beds, décor, and linens were all first-rate. A French door opened onto a deck with a table and two chairs. The deck was on the back side of the hotel, so it was very quiet (no street noise), with piped classical music quietly playing on some outside speakers. The breakfast in the downstairs breakfast room was by far the best we had during our entire stay in Italy. It was a buffet with a large assortment of both hot and cold dishes, plus a variety of beverages and pastries. The staff members were all very pleasant and helpful. They provided great dinner recommendations.

Our idea of the room was that is was a bit more modern and in some areas of the hotel some maintenance would have been nice, as color was coming of in the corridor and on the balcony.

It was really close to the train station, roughly a 5 to 10 min walk. As well super close to the ruins of Pompeii, roughly 2 to 5 min walk. We only stayed one night but found a lovely restaurant with in 2 to 5 min walking distance to the hotel. Bar was ok equipped and we were able to have an aperitif before our dinner. Breakfast was diverse with a lot of options, however vegan options were missing completely.

Unusually for Italian hotels the beds were very comfortable! I note other reviews complained about parking, but it's really not a problem as the car park is just across the road and very easy to find. Keys did not turn well in the locks...that's it!

The staff was very friendly and there were many small surprises about the hotel. We booked it for access and parking to visit the site. We found an inviting romantic hotel with great food, ambience and garden.

Our room was very dated and should be completely refurbished, especially the bathroom. It was the worst room we have had in our 3 weeks in Italy. Would not recommend.

The first room we were given was nasty. Air conditioner didn't work. Shower was so old and hard on your skin. It felt like bathing from an old faucet. Decor was tacky like a 1980's nightmare. Green accents and dirty walls with shoe prints on them. They need to fix those rooms. That's unacceptable to offer that for a paying guest. On the othe hand, when we complained about the air con (we were sweating like if we were in a sauna), they gave us a tiny room #53. It was small like being in a whole on the wall but it was so well appointed and functional we had zero complaints. Everything was perfect from that point on.

The beautiful garden of lemon trees and the vine above the sitting area outside. The little lights at night... it looked like a fairytale staying in Pompei for 2 nights.

Rooms not quite ready at check in time. Car parked in car park away from hotel was damaged (through no fault of the hotel) and we would have like tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. One room was too small to accommodate two suitcases. We really did not like the music pipped to the gardens.

There were some nice touches, such as complimentary nibbles and canapés, plenty of toiletries and fresh towels. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was superb with warm croissants of many flavours daily. The garden was a joy to relax in.

The town itself is unremarkable - not really a criticism as we were there to visit the ruins.

The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble , they helped organise transport and book restaurants. The location is excellent if you are planning a trip to the ruins. It's right across the road from a main gate. The gardens at the hotel are very picturesque with carefully tended sfusto lemon trees providing much needed shade.

The shower space is minuscule, and the shower itself is not the best. Also the coffee in the morning was possibly the worst I had in Italy (still better than most I have in Ireland, but still).

Perfect location, very attentive staff, good bed and nice TV.

The bathroom was very small, couldnt open the dorr completely because it hit the toilet and couldnt close it unless I went in the shower and the shower was cold. But it didnt really bother us cause we were there for only one night.

Perfect location, great breakfast, amazing hotel garden, very good staff. Great value for money.

The room we stayed in (#37) needs to be modernized in colour and furniture like the suite on the main floor.

Loved the breakfast and the modern feel of the room it was served in. The staff were very polite and very helpful.

There was nothing about this hotel which I didn't like.

Room was spacious, bed was more than comfy, location was perfect for quick access to the Pompeii site. Breakfast was good, with a selection of hot and cold food. Coffee was good.Staff were helpful and always polite and smiling.

    Nothing

Lovely buffet breakfast: fresh fruit salad, fabulous bread. No rip off bar prices. Lovely garden to sit in. Just over the road from main entrance to Pompeii ruins. Several good restaurants nearby. 20 min walk from station - good for visiting places on the Napoli-Sorrento line, but taxi needed with big case (€10).

Staff wasn't particularly friendly. My adult daughter had the third bed in a triple and it was very squeaky.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast good. There is an outdoor seating area with incredible lemon trees which was nice to have. The location was excellent and the room quiet despite being on a busy street.

Good size room. Firm bed. Great location - across street from an entrance to the ruins and easy to get on and off the highway. Good location for last night before traveling out of Naples airport. Lovely garden filled with citrus trees.

The hotel organised a taxi from the airport for 70 euros. We later discovered the going rate was 39 - 60 euros for that trip. Taxi was very late AND wanted to charge us 100 euros to guarantee a return trip to the airport at a 'discounted' rate of 40 euros. We did complain to the hotel and they spoke to the taxi driver, but there was no reduction in fare.

The location, the hotel building itself and especially the garden were excellent. The restaurant provided a very good evening meal in a beautiful outside setting. Staff were helpful and the service was good. A table of complimentary bar snacks each evening was a nice touch.

It seems to me that staff in Italian hotels expect guests to know what is available to them, i.e. free snacks at lunch or evening time, and they have their own star system which is nothing like the international standard.

Breakfast and rooms was ok, very very close to Pompeii, it was very nice just to cross the road and your there at the ruins. I would stay there again, If I cant find a full board hotel close to ruins.

The inhouse restaurant for residents was very poor, the waitress was un-engaging and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone! The food quality was very poor and not up to 4 star!! Would have been nice to have had more choice at breakfast regarding the hot choice of food only (scrambled egg and sausage). Slight noise disturbance in the room backing onto reception but not overly intrusive.

Junior suite rooms 20/21 were excellent, very quiet, large bed very comfortable and cleanliness of room was excellent. The complimentary toiletries were lovely. The bed linen and bathroom towels being changed daily was very good too. The shower was unbelievable and there was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast was adequate. Lovely pastries!!

Small room made it crowded for us and baggage, but since we were only in room to sleep, shower, and dress, we could live with this for the convenience to the site.

Proximity to Pompeii ruins - the hotel is immediately across the street from a main gate. -- which is why we chose to stay in Pompeii.

Wouldn't call it 4 star when there are no warm drinks making facilities in the room and breakfast is incredibly basic. Warm options are scrambled eggs and hot dogs which were practically cold. Replenishing the food seemed to stop at 9 am although breakfast finished at 10:30 .

The staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for the ruins. Hotel is spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Sadly the Air conditioning was non operable and is only switched on when the weather is constantly hot. It was hot for several days but still remained off. The mini bar contains zero alcohol and the bar in the hotel was unmanned.

We stayed in an economy priced room which was good value for money - however compared with the rest of the hotel and other rooms we peeked into, was disappointingly dated in its decoration, and facilities. The shower was simply awful. It was miniature in size and when we arrived we could only achieve a trickle ( and I mean a trickle!) of tepid water. After drawing this to the attention of staff it improved a little but did not really meet modern day standards. We did consider upgrading rooms but having unpacked did not really feel like moving, and after all we did not plan to spend a lot of time in our room!!

The location of the hotel was fantastic, within a short walk of the Pompeii ruins. Parking was great - a large car park on the other side of the road, so no concerns about having to find a space. Breakfast was very good - better than we had expected, fresh orange juice and a good selection of pastries as well as cold meats cheese etc. One plus was the HOT coffee. The hotel itself is lovely - with great attention to detail vis the stylish decor. The star for me however was the garden - with lots of orange and lemon trees - stylishly rustic - and simply gorgeous. Perfect for sitting with a glass of something lovely at the end of a day visiting the ruins!! Place was spotlessly clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room cleaning was great.
