That the pool gym didn't open earlier or stay open longer. I was really hoping to go to the gym before it got to hot everyday but they didn't open it till 10am or 9:30am? and it closes at 6pm. The pool is open to the public, so it does get busy around 11am just take not and the towels do cost 2.5euro to hire. Other then that it was a great stay.

Great location, only short walk from the town centre. Great pool area to relax when its hot during the day. owners were super nice and very helpful booked us a wonderful wine tour and recommended places to eat. Breakfast was basic but good, healthy options as well as your traditional sweets.

Located just outside Siena's city walls it's a twenty minute uphill walk to the centre but a taxi is cheap and takes a few minutes. The view from our room was fantastic of the Siena skyline but not all rooms have views. It has a very large swimming pool, again with great views. The garden is small but very pretty with lots of shade. Plenty of parking.

Il Giardino is a family hotel and the staff (members of the family) could not have been nicer or more helpful. I would have rated them higher if it were possible. My wife was having problems getting around, so they changed the room so she wouldn't have to deal with stairs. They let us leave our luggage and car there past check-out time, while we toured Siena. Only regret, we didn't get to spend more time at this great hotel with these lovely people.

Too much cigarette smoke and smell getting into my room. This was especially bad when I opened my window which was on the 2nd floor. I did not complain about this but probably should have said something.

The breakfasts were basic but adequate. The hotel generally was rather tired and could do with refurbishment and a general tidy up. Having said that it's a reasonable price if you just want somewhere to sleep in what is obviously a fairly expensive city.

The room was a good size and clean and the hotel was in an excellent position just outside the city wall, about an 800 metre walk to the centre. We chose it mainly as it had its own parking and so we didn't have to negogiate the narrow streets in a hire car.

The owner (of manager) took very good care of the property and his guests. Just outside the city wall with a five minute walk to get through the gate. We chose this hotel because of the reviews - – however we were very disappointed. We had the most basic breakfast we have had in the 6 months traveling around Europe. First morning there was only cereal, bread & jam, croissant, coffee. – nothing else – no cheese, meat or anything. The 2nd morning there was another table of guest & they put out a small plate with few slices of meat & cheese. If this is their quiet time – would have been better if they sent us to a restaurant with a voucher. Or not take guests!!! We also read they had hard beds, someone had been given a topper pad, so we asked for one which made little difference to our very hard bed. They use dated blankets not duvets on the bed. We stayed in a larger newer annex room, dread to think what the standard older rooms are like. The TV had lots of channels (none in English) The hotel was difficult to get to due to a road-closure close to hotel.

Private parking close to the rooms. Host was helpful and accommodating. The wall is in front of the hotel, but a long walk from entrance to centre of town.

Reception was exceptionally friendly and the facilities were great. Breakfast was top notch and there was a wonderful lookking pool that would have been lovely in warmer months. The location was superb for two reasons. One, it was an easy walk to get in to the historic center--the reason many travelers come to Assisi. And two, it is easy to get to on the highway, though the was some construction on the street and it took some inquiries among the taxi stand to find an alternate route. If we come back to Assisi this will definitely be our choice.

Breakfast itself was OK. Although selection is not that wide and after a couple of days you can get bored. Also during the breakfast the food is not refilled, so if you come later you will have less to eat. We stayed in the old part of the hotel and our room was very outdated. There was air conditioning but it didn't work. And though we kept the window open at night it was still hot inside. Very noisy flush in the toilet. Very scarce toiletries - bring your own shampoo. the pool seems to be open to people who do not stay in the hotel. And sometimes it gets very crowdy and noisy.

The hotel needs a refresh and having to ask for a second coffee at breakfast a joke not a hotel to recommend

The pool area and the sun beds were good . The view from the breakfast room was wow and the location very good . The bus service from the inner gate is very good as the walk up into the town is quite boring

We were a bit surprised to find that pool towels had to be paid for, and that the spa cost 10 Euros for 20 minutes.

View from room of the town walls was spectacular. Staff were friendly. Free parking was useful. Breakfast was plentiful and good.

Unhelpful and weird staff except for Gianna. Asked to use their hose pipe to wash dust off the back window of car and this was refused in a condescending way by manager. Room horrid, bathroom horrid . Noisy. Breakfast not very good . Hotel quite dirty.
