Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyOnly issue was transport, really hard to get a bus or taxi from the hotel. This is not the hotels fault however I think it would be amazing if they offered their own shuttle bus just to the centre of almafi.
Staff were incredible! So friendly and helpful wanted to live here, food was delicious and wow I’m going to have dreams about the lemon sorbet.

United StatesIf you want to be right in Amalfi, this is a distance away, but as stated, you can catch the SITA bus to get to and from hotel right into Amalfi or Positano. Even if you have a car, not really worth it to drive into Amalfi or Positano, just take the bus or use the water taxi to go from one city to another -- absolutely beautiful vistas from the sea looking at the coast.
We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel has a small garage, and the staff parks your car so you don't hit someone else's. Hotel is maybe 2 km from Amalfi center, and it could be walkable, but the hotel is a bus stop for the SITA bus for 1.50 euro to go into Amalfi or return from there. You can catch the bus too that goes opposite direction into Positano or beyond if you want. Breakfast was chock full of offerings; you won't leave hungry. The hotel also serves dinner and given that it is outside Amalfi, we chose to eat there one of our nights and had an excellent meal. Our room was ample in size, with a lovely balcony, large bathroom, king bed. The hotel has a rooftop bar and its own lemon groves from which they make a super lemon spritz. They also make their own pasta and the Maitre'd shows you the fresh fish of the day.

GermanyHad such a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff takes care of you individually and always greets you warmly. The terrace cocktail bar with a view of the sea and lemon gardens above is the best thing to see and spend time specially on the evening of the arrival. The bus stop is just outside the hotel door and give that the bus timings are always off by 15-20 mins, you dont have to wait in the sun. The food is deliciously prepared and they explain you what you prefer. Overall an awesome stay and we will be back for sure.

CanadaThe water pressure from the shower head was poor so it didn’t make for the best shower experience. Otherwise, the property is beautiful and well done.
The property was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated that the food and drinks offered at the hotel’s bar and breakfast were incredible and reasonably priced. It was also convenient that the bus stop was right outside the hotel, to go into town.

United StatesTwo things my partner and I did not care for were that the shower in the economy room that we stayed in was very small and you do hear the traffic, especially in the morning because the hotel is close to one of the main roads..
Both the Free Breakfast and paid dinner were absolutely delicious and so fresh! Hotel La Pergola has their own lemon and vegetable garden so the food quality was phenomenal! The views are stunning! From the hotel, the walk to the main center of Amalfi is about 30 minutes. The Staff was accommodating and friendly.

CanadaOnly issue is the bed, it is not very comfortable.
We arrived a bit early and our room was ready, reception staff was very helpful. Room was very clean and very good size, our terrace was amazing and our view as well. Location is good, Sita bus stop right in front of the Hotel. 20 min walking to Amalfi town and like 10 min by bus. The views from the Bar/Restaurant are amazing in the afternoon.

United StatesIt would have been nice to have access to a washer but a lot of hotels don't so that is the only thing I would improve on but loved our stay there.
The staff was very nice and helpful whatever we needed. The breakfast included is wonderful especially sitting on their outdoor patio with gorgeous views.

United StatesHotel La Pergola was the crown jewel of our trip to Amalfi. Just a short walk away from lido delgi artisiti, it made relaxing on the beach very easy (and cheap!) Taxis can be very expensive so having a beach nearby was a game changer (and one of the best beaches in the region at that). The staff were delightful and we adored the lemon experience on our last night at the hotel. The restaurant was excellent and really enabled relaxation at the end of the night. Cannot recommend enough.

GermanyThe terrace restaurant requires major upgrade with structure and decoration including new facilities. Proper ceiling to protect rain and sun, new self service bar with fridges and warm plates and certainly new tables and chairs.
The breakfast seemed very naturally orgaised with fresh food and fruit dishes. I would have preferred different kind of cooked breakfast such as fried eggs, grilled vegetables and other options. but in general a very tasty selection.
