Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe bathroom was really small and especially the shower cabin was tiny. You could hardly move. The room had only one window with no view at all. The twin beds were pretty basic. Mattresses on metal bases. I think that the room was overpriced for its quality. The tiniest fridge and no other facilities.

The location is brilliant , just a few minutes from train station . Also not far from lovely cafes and restaurants and from the main attractions . REception was 24hrs which was good as we left at 6.30in the morning as had an early flight The room was lovely and spacious with plenty of room for clothes , Complimentary water was good as well

IsraelI would have liked more vegetables for breakfast. When I queried whether the online checkin was necessary, they told me that it was to save time at registration. Actually they registered me very fast; it would be useful to let people know when they send it that the online check in is optional.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. After checkout on my last day, I asked them if they knew a quiet place where I could sit and work, and they suggested the hotel's breakfast room, where I worked very comfortably for a couple of hours. The location was great - very central. I chose it because it was just round the corner for my conference, but it was also very convenient for the wonderful market, where I ate most of my lunches and suppers. They have a lovely rooftop with a splendid view of the city - unfortunately the weather was too cold to eat breakfast there!

United StatesGreat location from Santa Maria Novella train station, easy walk to attractions. Plenty of restaurants, shops and coffee bars around. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit and yoghurt as well as Italian bread and pastries. Our room faced tiled roofs and was very quiet.

MexicoIt did get a bit noisy at night because of the heater which seems a tad old, and being so close to the train station, the street in front if you get a room with a window might also be very busy and crowded even at night, but these are really minor inconveniences given the still quite good price/quality relation.
The room was tasteful and simple, with a big comfortable bed. The breakfast was great, and there are always cookies or tea available for free at the lobby. The staff was tremendously nice and we even got to do our check-in as early as 9am because our room was available. Really recommend staying at this little hotel, it has a charm of its own.
