We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Stiegl Scala. So much so that we returned after a few days in the Dolmites to relax another day by their pool. Breakfast every morning is amazing and the staff are really helpful! The back garden and pool are beautiful - it feels like a little oasis from the city. But still close to the train, cable car, and all the great restaurants and shops!

What would be good is a standard receptacle at one of the parking spots to charge a Hybrid vehicle. Hybrids use only a standard receptacle, not the EV charging station.

Everything was perfect! Excellent choice for good price We stayed in the room with balcony. It was new and big. Very comfortable bed. Good bathroom set. Amazing balcony view. Tasty breakfast. Underground parking by the hotel, so your car safe. Perfect location, 5 min walking to funicular and 10 min walking to old town what makes hotel quiet (old time is super noisy).

Staff at the bar could have been friendlier

The rooms was very spacious. Bathroom had a large bathtub. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. Free outside parking (garage parking for 11 euros/night not needed). Close walking distance to the city center

Additional guidance prior to arrival is required especially as parking is on the opposite side of the street and entrance to parking is before the main building entrance. As street parking is limited and the street is one way initial entry can be a little tricky.

A nice pit stop through northern Italy. Having hotel parking is essential as street parking is scarce so close to the old town.(Walking distance). Breakfast is good and rooms spacious.

Although we only stayed one night, our impressions of the hotel are very positive. Excellent service in the restaurant at dinner time (with delicious meals) and a comprehensive breakfast in the morning. Reception staff were helpful and gave us the complimentary city tickets that gave us free access to the excellent museum of archaeology (home to Oetzi the ice msn, and an excellent museum). The old town of Bolzano was quite charming and I wish we could have stayed longer. We booked a family room which worked well for us - a main bedroom with a second bedroom separated from this by a small entry lobby. We didn’t get a chance to use the gym facilities but these looked quite good.

Only a few minutes' walk from the train station and the town center and a stone's throw away from the cable car to Oberbozen. I had arrived a few hours earlier than check in time yet the amazing staff had a room available for me upon arrival and as I had requested (with a balcony), which allowed me to start exploring the environs after I had settled in my room. I especially appreciated the tourist pass which allowed me to travel on all public transport in the region free of charge during my stay. Other lovely touches were the room amenities (especially the bathrobe). The breakfasts were varied and ample and a great way to start your day. Also noteworthy is the on-premises restaurant, which serves up local and national dishes and is a wonderful, peaceful way to enjoy an evening meal away from the touristy crowds.

The room was nice and big, and also extremely quiet, which I particularly appreciated. Also the bathroom was modern and spacious. The staff were extremely gentle and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The hotel also gave us a Bolzano card free of charge, with which we were able to enter the mummy Ozi's museum and take the public transportation for free, including the cable cabin to Bolzano Sopra. The location of the hotel was very good, only a few minutes walk from the centre. I highly recommend this hotel.
