It would be great if the windows or bed can have mosquito nets. At summer times, without the nets, made us nervous to leave windows open at night (I’m super attractive to mosquitos).

Breakfast was great, the offer changes from time to time, too. Room and common area are clean. Have the possibility to diner there, too. There are 3 cats (though we only met 2) and a dog (partially there) from the owners. Area is very quiet, nice stars at night, supermarket nearby, too. The large common areas are great even if you want to spend the day/evening there without going out.

We had a wonderful experience at Il Casale di Santamettole. The place is full of charm, peace, and authenticity, and from the very first moment, you feel yourself truly unwind. This is especially thanks to the amazing couple who run it – they welcome you with warmth and genuine hospitality. The whole family makes you feel at home, and it’s clear the place is run with love and pride. A little oasis we can warmly recommend – and hope to return to!

In our short stay we haven't found anything to complain. You'll feel safe and relaxed.

The scenery was amazing and hosts were cool and friendly. They cooked for us a delicious dinner and accompanied by the house wine we felt no worries for the night. The food is a must, the wine is a must and the location is wonderful. We even tried the pool even if it's been a bit cold for that :) also amazing.

I did not saw the pool, but I guess it still not in use because of a weather (15 of May), it still cold. Overall the place is so relaxing and well maintained, with outdoor places to sit and enjoy! A hot water (kettle) and cups, some tea and drinking water in the room would be quite helpful. Just notice:)

Silence and relax. Very beautiful and well decorated place, where you can feel true vibe of Italy. Hosts are also nice and friendly. I like the breakfast 😋 all fresh and tasty (you’ll find coffee/tea, fruits, pastry, cheese and ham etc., butter and bread, crunches and yogurt. But no cooked meal like eggs or sausages - be aware).

Everything was nice!

Unfortunately, the pool was not open (yet), but the garden and quiet surroundings were wonderful. There is a self-service fridge with cold drinks that you can pay when checking out, breakfast is varied and costs 8 Eur per person. Our room was beautiful with a great view toward the Tuscan hills, and we had dinner at a restaurant 15 minutes away by car, that was recommended by the hosts and it was delicious.

Staying at Il Casale Di Santamettole in Mugello was an absolute pleasure. From the varying breakfast choices every day and delicious home prepared dinners, to the wonderful natural setting with outdoor areas in which to relax, inclusive of the pool and pergola, we had a most enjoyable holiday. However, the greatest feature of this lovely accommodation is the care shown by the hosts and support staff. They went over and beyond to ensure our needs were met and clearly take great pride in their agriturismo with great attention to both clients and the property being of the highest standard.

Our stay at Il Casale di Santamettole was nothing short of magical. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor pool—a refreshing oasis during the warm Tuscan days. Whether we were lounging by the pool or taking a refreshing plunge it was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The hosts at Il Casale di Santamettole are absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of the family, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and hospitality truly made our experience special. Their dog is one of a kind spoiled cutie! The food deserves a special mention—it was simply superb! Every meal was a delight, but the pasta with potatoes was a standout dish that we couldn’t get enough of. The dining experience here was one of the best we’ve had in Tuscany. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with that special Italian vibe that made us feel instantly at home. Our hosts were excellent! As were the property, food and views. The location was perfect to explore wider Tuscany. In my opinion you simply can't go wrong with a stay here, and we will certainly go back! Everything is super relaxed with a warm family atmosphere. You are able to interact with the hosts and other guests as much or as little as you want. Breakfast was perfect and the optional evening dinner was excellent.

Hospitality is very much on point, our car needed reparation so we had to stay for the night. We found this gem. And from the start everybody was very kind and helpful. The taxiservice let us down and they stepped in and organised everything. I think we had 30 places to stay in Italy the last couple of years. This was the best experience so far. Bless you.

If you're seeking more than just a hotel stay, but want to experience the authentic life in a Tuscan villa, this is the place. We chose Il Casale di Santamettole because of numerous reviews about hospitality of the hosts and amazing views, but reality exceeded all our expectations. It is a cozy family-owned traditional Tuscan villa near a charming village of Barberino and just 50 min ride both from Florence and Bologna. Host Ornella is the sweetest person in the world, and would go above and beyond for her guests to feel like they are the most important people in the world. We stayed for 3 nights and then came back for one more night at the end of our trip and it was the best decision ever! And don’t hesitate coming here with kids - Ornella’s son is the most friendly boy in the world - he and our 4 y.o. son spent the whole time playing together, so my husband and I could just relax with a glass of wine enjoying the views of the tuscan hills. The pool has spectacular views and the weather just got warm enough for us to enjoy swimming; dinners cooked by Ornella and her mother were nothing short of perfection (pasta with truffle was one of the best I have ever eaten). We cannot recommend this place more. Thank you, Ornella & team, for your kindness and for dear memories we will cherish forever!
