Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Quirky furnishing. Great location within walking distance to town. Breakfast at a local cafe, which was available too late for my departure. Ask the host for an alternative.

Great apartment with washing machine and a cooperation with a bar which opens at 5 am. You get a marvelous brakefast including cappuccino, corneto and a juice. The ideal spot to stay as a couple on the via Francigena.

The café for breakfast was rather chaotic, probably because there was a funfair in town, and it doesn't serve tea!
This is an attractively furnished, extremely well equipped apartment in a safe and convenient location just outside the medieval centre of Campagnano di Roma. The cupboards were full of useful items- even liquid for the washing machine, and a choice of shower products. Entry was simple, via a key safe, and communication with the owner via WhatsApp was excellent. The bed was comfortable, there were loads of hooks to hang towels and washing, and it was lovely and clean.

I know you have spent a lot of time & energy of the decor - but the space it takes up is questionable. A couple of comfy chairs would be better ….. with a very small table. No additions. For 85.00 euros thought that “ inclusions “ could have been bit better.
Location & balcony view. Washing machine. Bottles of cold firizzante water on arrival appreciated. Hot day.

Very little contact with owners, all via text. Restaurant and local information would be nice to have in the flat. We were charged €5 to store our bags. We are walking the via francigena and no other property on our route has asked for this, a little disappointing.
Lovely and modern, everything in good working order. Prefer a table with proper chairs as they took up a lot of space. No sofa or lounge area, it’s a studio rather than a flat as no separate bedroom.

We had a fantastic stay! The hotel was spotless every corner was impeccably clean and well maintained. What truly made the experience special was the host, who was incredibly warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made all the difference. Highly recommend for anyone who values a clean, comfortable stay with genuine service!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Spacious, clean and comfortable. A stylish apartment with everything you need for a great stay and the croissants at the patisserie are top quality. The shops and restaurants are within minutes’ walk. It was an ideal stop on the via Francigena. The hostess is fantastic; communication was excellent, checking in and out very easy. I would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

Clean, comfortable and convenient. Fabiana made the check in process super fast and easy. The apartment looks like it’s been recently renovated. Very clean and the small kitchen was perfect for making coffee in the morning. A coffee and pastry at a nearby bakery was also included. I was there in January and the heat worked very well. Also, great location close to shops and restaurants.

The only problem we encountered was that we had to leave early so were not able to get breakfast which is provided via a voucher which we needed to present at a place nearby. Nor a big deal for us.
The location is very central to the town. We were walking the Via Francigena so its location was important. We received good instructions on how to access the property. The room was very clean and had all the amenities we needed.

There was nothing not to like.
The apartment felt spacious, airy and light. It was well-kitted out and included a washing machine. The hostess was friendly, helpful and hospitable. She liased with the luggage courier, and received and stored the luggage.

The location was excellent! Checkin was very well explained and easy to follow. The apt was clean and tidy. The bathroom and shower were wonderful! It was so nice to have the use of a washing machine. The host was very helpful with our request for special handling of our luggage which was very much appreciated.

Everything was very good
Very modern, updated and super clean apartment. Very comfortable bed and quiet street. Host was very responsive and checked to make sure everything was good. She gave us a coupon for coffee and pastry for breakfast at a very close bakery. Great location Good stop for the Via Francigena

This was an exceptionally nice apartment, very centrally located. It was well equipped with everything I needed, including a washing machine and a patio with a drying rack. The host was responsive and helpful, and self check-in was easy.

There’s nothing to not like. It’s got everything.
The apartment is very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The location is great, close to everything. For anyone walking the Via Francigena, this place is perfect as it has a washing machine and balcony for drying clothes! The check in process was easy, and Fabiana was very helpful and ready to answer questions. Great value for money and I highly recommend.
