Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe walls are very thin, we could hear our neighbours talking and snoring. Would be nice to have a warmer blanket. Breakfast was very simple and the coffee was not very tasty.
The lady who greeted us was very nice and overall its a nice place to crush over. We had a beautiful view from our window.

United KingdomYou definitely need a car if you stay here as it is in a very secluded spot - not a problem for us.
The property is in a stunning location, at the top of a hill with great views of the surrounding valleys. It is a charming old building, with a small terrace where breakfast is served if the weather is good. The room was small but comfortable and the host, Rosella, was very friendly. Some reviews make it sound like you take your life into your hands driving up the winding road to the property, but I had no problem with my fairly large MPV car (a Ford S-Max) and at no point felt in any danger.

United KingdomBeautiful but very remote, the restaurant is no longer open. Advise to get drinks and snacks for the room in town. As a result a small fridge in the room would be appreciated.

GermanyThe parking situation is not easy, because of the location on top of the hill. Very few parking spots, but nevertheless a rural and normally empty street.
We had a lovely welcome from the owner. Our room was small, but very romatic and super clean. Amazing view from our room and from the hotel terrace. Nice italian breakfast with brioche, jam, butter and coffee. Highly recommend a car! We did tours to see cinque terre ( 15 min to La spezia main station), but the place would also be nice to go hiking! Great stay!

New ZealandAlthough our room was very close to the office - We found it difficult to access the Wifi as the walls are quite thick. We had to position ourselves in just the right spot for it to work. The main bed was quite firm and not entirely to our preference. The single bed, however, was ok.
We loved the breakfast here and the willingness of the staff to help us when needed. Although it was a bit of a hike to get our luggage up the road and up all the stairs to our room - the location was very pretty and peaceful which we appreciated. The bathroom was nice and clean and well stocked. It also had a lovely view!

HungaryThe walls are not really effective for sound protection, one can hear the noises in the neighbouring room too clearly. However, if you are a good sleeper and not disturbed by noises, staying here is a good experience because the special location on the top of the hill and the great views are really special. The room was really nice otherwise.

Netherlandsit is a bit remote, and breakfast is a bit monotonous
the location is superb and the rooms are super clean. The hostess is very friendly. Breakfast is good, although if you stay longer there is little variation. The fresh croissant is absolutely stunning! Some reviews mention the road and parking, but we didn’t encounter any issues. If one is unable to drive there, please give back your drivers license. It is a very small village (which is part of the charm) so if you expect to park in front of your room you need to re-evaluate your expectations. You can also have two course dinner for 15€ (€24 including wine and desert) which is very good

BelgiumThe breakfast consists of two croissants, a packed brioche and two packs of biscotte, rusks, with butter and two kind of jam. Only sweet and no cheese or something salty. It doesn't really mather but it's a shame in these mountains. We have bought our bread and cheese. The room have only interior wooden shutters, so it's impossible to leave the windows open and be able to ventilate away from mosquitoes.
the place was very quiet and isolated. very close to La Spezia and cinque terre
