Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt is next to the road, but traffic noise wasn’t very noticeable inside the room.
This is a very nice trullo stay, new, and spotlessly clean inside and out. The kind owner provided numerous special touches and the price was good value.

United KingdomOur bedroom was OK but could have done with some modernisation.
Excellent breakfast, including cereals, yogurts, fruit juices, croissants, bread rolls, meats, cheese, jams, pastries, cake, fruit and choice of beverages in a pleasant dining room. The hotel was in a quiet location a short distance from the train station, boats to Isola Bella and 20 minutes walk from the centre of Stresa.

CanadaFor the price we paid, we had no complaints.
The young woman at the reception was as sweet as could be, and they are well set up to give recommendations to those who are visiting the town.

United KingdomNothing really, lovely Hotel at a very reasonable price.
A delightful, low key hotel based on the outskirts of Stressa. About 15-20 minute walk along the very pretty promenade to the heart of town and boat piers. Close enough to Stressa train station to walk if you are arriving that way. We had a car and parked at the hotel for a daily fee. I stayed here for a long weekend in September with my wife. We were given a first floor apartment which had a private bathroom /shower and a lovely balcony that partially overlooked the Motterone hillside. The room was spotlessly clean, made up every day, comfy large bed, shower was always hot, free WIFI, TV (Not used). No air conditioning but a fan was provided. Buffet breakfast was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. It will be my first choice again when next visiting.

AustraliaA little noisy due to proximity to main road, although hotel itself is on a nice quiet side street. There is no footpath on road to station or supermarket.
Great value. Lovely room, cleaned each day. Nice balcony and views from our room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Short walk to town and station. Very convenient for interailing!

FinlandI liked everything.
The personnel was very nice and friendly and the breakfast was good with a big, warm croissaint and buns, cheese, juice etc. from the buffet. It was located near the port where you can take a boat to the Borromean islands and from the port there is a nice walk by the lake to the center of Stresa for about 20 minutes.

DenmarkThe breakfast could be a bit more varied. I know it's Italy, but some veg and eggs could be introduced to the buffet.
The place is very quiet and close to the city center. Quite cheap in relation to other properties in Stresa. Helpful staff.

United KingdomWould have been good to have a kettle in the room to make a drink. The shower is quite small so not great if you’re tall and solid like my husband 😂. There seemed to be a bar, but wasn’t advertised or encouraged to use it.
The breakfast was excellent, probably the best croissants we’ve had so far on our trip. The location was convenient for the train station and close to the lake.
