How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewCanneto beach is just a short walk away. It’s a cozy boutique hotel and has a lovely rooftop terrace where you can enjoy an apperitivo in the evening. Alex and Serena were lovely and gave great suggestions on tours etc…
It is a 10minute bus ride to the town of Lipari, which is not a problem, but if you are more interested in staying in the heart of town, you might consider staying in Lipari….

Verified reviewIt is a small hotel good for a short stay. It is very nicely designed, it has an elevator which is a big plus, it is generally clean and cozy. The building inside is pleasantly refreshed, everything is kept in bright colors. You can even find a small library with a comfortable place to read books and a place to relax on the roof. Close to the hotel is a bus stop to get to Lipari. One minute from the hotel is a beach with a beautiful view of Stromboli. It is easy to park a car near the hotel. The bed in the room was very soft which may be a plus for some and less comfortable for others. There are a few grocery stores and restaurants around. It is worth renting a car or scooter directly close to the port to travel freely around the island, the hotel is located in Canetto, which is about 7 minutes by car from the port, but around 40 minutes on foot on roads mostly without pedestrian walkways.
It is worth knowing about some important aspects. If someone is planning a longer stay then there is no laundry service at the hotel, you can do it yourself at the laundry in Lipari (another city). Right behind the hotel is a church and the bells are ringing very often, if someone is sensitive to sounds it is worth paying attention to. Breakfast included in the price was monotonous and there was no choice of products, next time I would choose a stay without 'breakfast included'. There is no kettle in the room, the mini fridge in the room did not work and had a not very pleasant smell. We were in low season in November and of course the rooftop pool did not function (this may be important to someone), for us it was not a problem.

Verified reviewThe only thing liked about this property , was the location.
Was very disappointed when we got there . Nothing was like the pictures , which is why we choose it, rooms were nothing like it , pool was dirty & looked like a pond, not a pool like showcased. Very old & needs to be updated. Extremely expensive for that hotel. I would not say it was a 4 star hotel, more like a 2.5 - 3 star .

Verified reviewI would say everything - pretty design, fantastic staff, well organized, clean and well run place. It's just romantic, peaceful and quiet. To my surprise I even used the rooftop jacuzzi/small pool to chillax when I couldn't go to the beach. It is a perfect place for someone who needs calm and comfort.
Maybe there should be a bit more place to keep clothes in our room, but I guess maybe it's unusual to stay in Lipari for 9 days :) but I honestly can't say it really bothered us much.

Verified reviewWe actually enjoyed everything about our stay in this hotel. It’s in Canneto rather than the main town of Lipari but there is a very regular bus service that takes you into the town in a few minutes. The hotel is very close to the beach. It’s very stylishly furnished, with a variety of seating areas to relax in. The staff were excellent too. They recommended places for us to eat that we’d never find for ourselves and made reservations for us. Serena organised a pedicure and fabulous massage for me. In addition she and Valerio organised boat trips for us. We felt very well looked after for our entire stay. I can’t wait to go back one day.
Nothing!

Verified reviewLa Settima Luna was incredible. The hosts were welcoming and wonderful. The hotel is a little oasis on the island, and just relaxing on the roof terrace, in the naturally heated pool was blissful! Breakfast was great but what really made it special were the bedrooms. Large, spacious, gorgeous bathrooms. Very comfortable beds... La Settima Luna is open all year round, I would really love to come back and experience the island at a different time of year. I was able to work remotely for a day easily, the wifi was great. We rented a small car from Luigi at the harbour for the day. That got us to the hotel. We came to Lipari rather late in the season so a lot of the restaurants closed for the winter. So the car came in really handy to get to the places that were open which is close to the port. We would recommend Ristorante Il Corallo, the food and hosts were lovely.
