Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Germanyrefrigerator in the room was a bit noisy.
We had a wonderful stay at La Sicilia in un Sogno. The host, Giulia, was exceptionally welcoming and warm — a truly positive and communicative person. From the moment we arrived, she made sure we had everything we needed and responded to every question immediately. She even asked about special preferences for breakfast, which made the experience feel very personal and thoughtful. Breakfast was a real highlight — fresh and delicious, with items sourced from her family’s bakery, which added a lovely local touch. The apartment is spacious, featuring three guest rooms and a shared dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. Each room is private for individual guests or families, and ours was quite large, modern, and very clean. While the refrigerator in the room was a bit noisy, it was easy to manage by simply turning it off at night. The room faced the street, but there’s a grill over the window for added security. Despite the street-level setting, everything inside is beautifully renovated and cozy, so there’s no reason for concern. One thing to note is that the part of the city where the apartment is located may appear a bit run-down at first glance. It’s not the cleanest area and can seem a little rough or suspicious, especially compared to the historic old town — which is quite the opposite: clean, lively, elegant, and more expensive. That said, we never felt unsafe, and it’s just a more typical, residential side of Syracuse that adds a bit of contrast to the overall experience. Giulia also gave us great local recommendations, which helped us explore the city more like locals. On the first day, there was a mild smell in the room — possibly from cleaning products — but it quickly went away by the next day. Parking was simple and free — right on the narrow street outside, with other nearby streets offering more space if needed.

GermanyThe neighborhood is a bit on the outskirts and a bit strange but close to the archaeological sites and you are in the city centre kind of quick.
The host Giulia was amazing, always helping out and giving us tips. Also providing us extra food for our way. It made the stay extra nice. The room was very big and renovated. Clean and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.

United KingdomLovely host, lovely breakfast with freshly made (by her family!) sweet and savoury pastries. Excellent value. About a 15 minute stroll to Ortigia island, which is beautiful and fascinating; much nearer, don’t miss the remarkable Madonna Lacrima church.

SpainThe only thing that could make the accommodation even better is that breakfast is served at 8:30 AM, which is quite late if your plan is to see as much of eastern Sicily as possible.
The accommodation is spacious and well-equipped, with good lighting, a very comfortable bed, and a bathroom that meets all your needs. The silence at night is fantastic. There is good parking nearby: we were able to park a few meters from the entrance every day. The area seems safe, and Ortigia is not far away, just a short walk. Giulia was very friendly and attentive; we had no problems communicating via WhatsApp and received helpful advice from her afterward. Breakfast was good and sufficient.

GermanyThis is a very clean and comfortable place in a traditional Italian building. Guilia and Lorenzo were kind and welcoming. For breakfast, there’s coffee and Italian savory/sweet pastries, as well as fruit and muesli if you prefer something lighter. Ortigia is about a 15-minute walk away, and you can park on the street. The area is quiet, and we felt safe throughout our stay. Thank you very much!! ❤️

New ZealandThe only thing I found hard was not having any outside space to sit when we returned to our room in the afternoon and evening. With just 1 window that opened onto the street it felt a little closed in. But the positives of this bnb outweighed that.
The location was very much a neighbourhood location in Siracusa easy walking distance to the main centre and to Ortigia. While on appearance it maybe didn't look so safe we never felt unsafe there. Easy free parking on the street if you have a car. There is a kitchen that you can use to make coffee and snack. Giulia our host of the BnB was absolutely lovely coming every morning to serve us breakfast. She was also really helpful with local information. The room was lovely, stylish decorated, very clean, comfortable bed etc.
