Beautiful boutique hotel in wine country are with a classic Italian feel. Landscaping very nice (feels far away but you’re right in town), pool area was great, and rooms clean and spacious. We loved being welcome with a glass of vino!

My wife and I have spent >200 nights in hotels on five continents ranging from 2- to 5-stars over the last twelve years. This is only the second time we’ve felt misguided. This is NOT a 4-star property (well, maybe in Alba). Exterior comments: while admittedly early spring, the grounds were generally unkempt, furnishings and fixtures in need of attention. Interior: “Classic” rooms are in an annex with outside access. The hallway is musty with old carpet. Rooms and baths very, very small. We moved to a “Superior” room the second night in the main building. A significant improvement but rooms and baths are still extremely small; a tiny desk, no place to sit and the pre-fab shower stall 2-feet by 2-feet. My 5-foot tall, slender wife found it cramped. There was a nice terrace but the furniture was unappealing (though rain made it unusable regardless). The overhead awning was green with moss/mould. Overall, little correlation to the photo gallery. And the site is not as rural as it appears. Two large buildings abut. With a bit of attention, this could be a fine 3-star property.

Attractive reception/breakfast area. Extremely pleasant staff. Above average breakfast with fresh cooked eggs to order. An easy 20-minute walk to the old town.

Cons: Weird sewer/mold smell in room and surrounding hotel. Jr suite overlooking patio was loud for guests outside at night. They do not have a restaurant per se, but prepare many small plates. Unfortunately they are microwaved. Two sides of property are commercial. Look at Google maps. booking.com said 2 tvs and a bathtub = 1 tv and a shower. Expensive considering above.

Pros: Good location Great, reasonably priced wine available in lobby free parking most of staff very friendly/helpful for Italian standards

The WiFi was a bit unreliable but that's not an issue when you're on a vacation.

The location is nice and private in the end of a peaceful residential street. It's a 25 min walk away from the old town, but as there is also bicycles available this was no issue at all. The staff at Hotel Langhe are the real stars of the show, you'll rarely find friendlier or more helpful staff anywhere! They were happy to aid us with the winery visits and local restaurants. The breakfast was fresh and healthy, and the coffee very good. Pool is small on the size, but lots of sunbeds and such available. Would definitely visit again when nearby!

The pool area is lovely, but unfortunately the poolwater was greenish rather than blue at our stay, so some better pool maintenance would be nice

Lovely place with a really nice and helpful staff. The feeling is more of a second home than a regular hotel, with the nice in- and outdoor relax areas, great wines and food (incl breakfast). A perfect base for excursions among all the wineyards, whether you go by car or use the free-of-charge bikes (which are perfect to use for rolling down to Alba city centre, but perhaps not for the hilly roads up to some of the wineyards...;-))

Room is a bit outdated, bed could've been more comfortable. Sometimes by the pool there was a smell of sewer but that might something they can't to anything about.

The location seemed to be more out in the country than it was in the end -- there was a view of apartment houses right next to it (although you only had to turn around to not see it). The rooms are not that big, considering that people stay there for several days.

Very caring staff, very nice garden and swimming pool with nice facilities in the swimming pool like jacuzzi. Although it does not have a restaurant, they do provide some basic meal possibilities, which we also took advantage of. The location is close to Alba - in fact it is near the city center, only about a 5 minute drive.

A pattern that is used in the majority of goodhotels today, but according to my own desires is not so ok: the temperature of air conditioning is fixed by the reception. You can ask to change, but if you decide to change by yourselve in the middle of the night, you're not able. But I understand this is a new pattern.

The relation with nature was amazing: the birds and all the sounds from animals. It's a very beautiful place with very gentle people to receive us.

Shower base filled with water, slow to drain. Hair dryer overheated and did not work. Dogs in small breakfast area. Good variety of fruit at breakfast but mixed Kiwi fruit in with the bananas; or maybe then in the strawberries bowl, meant if you were allergic to kiwi fruit your choices were suddenly limited. No tea/coffee facilities available in room. Frogs in nearby stream were so loud, sleep was difficult .

Staff friendly and accommodating. The surrounding gardens were nice to come back to at the end of the day and enjoy a wine or coffee. Rooms were clean. Bed comfortable. Intimate breakfast area. Walking distance to town centre or nearby restaurants.

I am not sure if this is a European thing, but the mattress on the bed was stiff and hard. To make the stay a 10 out of 10, the mattress has to be softer.

    - Alba is compared to other villages not that romantic, but a good location to do several day trips to different towns.

    - staff was very friendly! - it is a little oasis in the middle of Alba town - the garden, the pool area invites to a perfect "dolce far niente" time - triple room was perfect with enough space for 3, specially through a separate toilet and bathroom

We were very disappointed. The interior decor needs addressing urgently, there are now buildings blocking any views/ overlooking the outdoor spaces so it's not remote or cosy which is what we felt it would be. The breakfast was poor- no fresh juices and not much choice. We ate in the restaurant once and the food for Italy was poor. The room and bathroom was poor- it wasn't comfortable and it certainly isn't 4 star. There also isn't a fitness centre. Just a small pool.

Our room had two skylights, instead of a normal window. However due to the amount of time that one spends in a hotel room, it wasn't that big of a deal.

The hotel was central to everything. The owner, half English/Italian was extremely kind and helpful. A glass of wine to welcome us and a thoughtful gift as we checked out. The hotel was spotless, very comfortable and with all amenities necessary. I would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money.

We had a fabulous "suite" on the ground floor, which was huge and had a good mix of modern facilities alongside antique furniture and character features. Breakfast provided us with a nice selection with which to start the day, and was served to a relaxed 10:30am. The location of the hotel was excellent - on the edge of the town, just a few minutes' drive into the centre of Alba (but perfectly walkable if you're more energetic than us!) The hotel provided a fantastic relaxing base from which to explore Alba and the surrounding countryside, indulging in the fabulous food and wine for which the Piemonte area is famous.

There was building work planned during our stay. We weren't informed in advance or informed on the actual day, just asked to remove our car from the car park as it was being resurfaced. We had booked a garden room specifically but couldn't actually use it on the only day we were staying because of the diggers outside.

Staff were friendly and the hotel is intimate and handy for Alba. Bikes are available free of charge.

    Nothing

You feel welcome right away. Staff is very friendly and competent. There is a distance to the centre of Alba, but the hotel has bikes you can use for free. Nice garden with a small pool. All you need for a comfortable stay!

    Nothing - everything was good.

Fantastic owner who was very politly and gently. Our room was fantastic too with a fantastiv terasse. Very good breakfast and very close to the other wine areas as Barbaresco and Barolo.

Difficult to find the hotel down small backstreet. We would have been lost without satnav.

Very quiet location near to the town. Staff helpful and very friendly.

The hotel has a perfect location to visit Alba and the rest of Piemonte. With the hotel bikes the city centre is only a few minutes away. The staff makes you feel at home and the surroundings are very pleasant. Perfect.

Rooms have vinyl flooring which was cold underfoot and made the room feel more like budget accomodation; location isn't as bucolic as the photos suggest as it's surrounded by large buidlings.

Friendly staff, warm welcome, simplicity of rooms and kind extras like a welcome spritz and local food gift on departure.

Location, although quiet and parking is available, does not have a great setting. But it is convenient.

Loved the decoration of the rooms, the balcony, the kind and friendly service, the breakfast. It was a highly comfortable and good experience.
