We had a 3rd floor room. The steps up to the room were very steep. This was mentioned in the hotel information but I didn’t think it would be as difficult to manage. Also I didn’t like that the desk was not attended after 8:00 pm.

For more budget-friendly accommodation, the room is one of the biggest we have stayed in. It was clean and closer to all amenities including Piazza San Marco and all the restaurants We would definitely stay here again

I stayed at Locanda Al Leon by myself in early May in a charming room with 2 single beds on the 3rd floor of the hotel overlooking the bustling courtyard below. The room was modest, but clean. Everything I needed. The building is incredibly charming as it was built sometime in the 1400's. Most importantly, the staff, all of the staff, including the woman and her son that own the hotel, are the sweetest, most gracious people, and because of their kindness and hospitality, I would return to Locanda anytime in the future to Venice. Location is quite literally the best, imo, in all of Venice near to San Marco and the water. Def recommend.

The room was very hot and the air-con didn’t work (even after the remote was provided. We left the next day so didn’t bother complaining.) The hairdryer was very old and weak.

No nozzle on the hairdryer. The water pressure was strong but the volume was poor Some noise from the bar under our window.

Very close to San Marco’s Square. Plenty of restaurants around. It’s located in a bustling area but it wasn’t noisy at night. Friendly and helpful team too. Lovely stay.

Traditional, well appointed hotel close to St Mark’s Square. Staff always responsive and helpful. Numerous restaurants in the area, including “fixed price” menus. Blue boat station San Zaccaria very short walking distance from hotel, all level and no stairs on way.

The breakfast had a cute setting but ran out of fruits (bananas) quickly and would have liked more vegetarian (eggless) options!
