A bit tricky to find (without google map it was hard), reception is working in limited hours.

Location is ok - not far from train station (no transport needed) and not far from centre as well. Nice room, normal size bathroom, I liked everything. Didn’t try breakfast so cannot tell anything about it.

    NOTHING!

Everything! The owners and staff of the hotel/Penzion were just great. We got to the hotel at around 2.30Am though we had promised to be there by 10 but they were really patient and waited for us till then.We called them like 10 times and were very tolerant, responsive and patient. After we arrived we couldn’t find the hotel but despite it being 2:30Am the owner still sent one staff to come pick us up. I highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Size of the room. Air condition is really bad. Windows are broken. You should go to next hotel for breakfast.

Good location for travellers near santa lucia. Good people in hotel. Nice restaurants near hotel.

    No complaints!

Location is perfect! It’s near the bus station (Atvo buses that takes you to and from Marco Polo Airport); just 8-10 minute walk to Venice train station (trains that can take you to Verona, Milan, Florence, etc if you’re planning to go on day trips from Venice). It is far enough from the busy streets so it is ideal for quiet nights, but just walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants if you fancy a drink or two or have nice meal. Realto bridge, Marco Polo Plaza and St. Mark’s Basilica were also just around 15-minute walk - yes, we love to walk around. We didn’t even take the vaporetto or water bus whilst we were in Venice. This is not a 5-star accommodation so don’t expect a concierge or other fancy stuff, but for the price that we paid for our 4-night stay, I would say this is a steal! The receptionists are very helpful and couldn’t be more nice. Breakfast (free!) is just enough to fuel our morning walks.

The room we stayed in could be improved a lot by using better (more) light-fixtures.

Small, but sufficient breakfast. Comfortable (hard) matress. Very nice and helpful staff members and a steal at that pricepoint (roughly 75€ a night).

Check in was not straightforward. Upon arrival there was a map with a dotted line indicating where to check in, but it was not clear. We ended up walking around the neighborhood only to find that check in was just around the corner of the same building, but it was not marked clearly.

I liked the location of the hotel. It's located in a quite neighborhood away from major tourist attractions, yet still pretty close to them. Breakfast was pretty good, with coffee made on demand. Easy to get to from bus station by walking.

Location was excellent - in a quite part of Venice. It's very local which is quite a change from the other parts of Venice. Good restaurants around the corner and not that expensive at all. The hotel is quite charming, clean and offers a decent breakfast.

This has been an a very expensive stay. For close to 150 USD per night of stay, they gave us an attic room with terrible AC in the peak summer. Since there is only a roof sun window the rooms gets hot, and stuffy. The AC barely works. After complaints they moved us to a lower room with a balcony which was slightly bigger, airier and roomier so felt less claustrophobic. But if the price paid was for attic room, I would not recommend it. They share their reception and breakfast area with another property. This may make it a bit harder to find them as you only see signs for that property- Hotel Al Malcanton. And the breakfast area at Hotel Al Malcanton is the only place where you get wifi. You probably will not get any reception in any rooms of Ganfando.

The place has great location otherwise. Close to station, and food places etc. The break fast has cold cuts, croissant, bread, juice, jams, cheese and one coffee which is pretty sufficient.

This hotel uses another hotel's reception so upon arrival you'll see a note instructing you to walk to that hotel. The receptionist is a grumpy old man that's not in the mood to cheer anyone and unhappy if you ask for anything more than the key to your room. The TV did not work at all. We were told that the cable company were working on it. That was in mid-June. The hotel is 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. The other way to move around in Venice is water bus (public transportation boat) or water taxi which costs 50 euros for a 5 minutes ride. If you walk from/to the train station and have suitcases you'll have to carry them over 5 foot bridges going up and down each bridge as they have to rise for the boats to go under. In 100 degrees humid heat that can be quite a job. We were not happy with this choice of hotel.

The staff was quite indifferent and not very friendly. We were there during a very hot week and the air conditioning is quite loud, so that you cannot have it on during the night. WLAN worked for some websites, not others.

We got a good deal on it, so the price was appropriate (for Venice). I really like the location of it, because it is only 5 min walking distance to the University and Margherita Square, with all its bars and restaurants.

The room could have been bigger but for this price it's hard to expect anything better. Good value for money in Venice.

Great location, 5min from the Train station, 5min to the Piazza Margherita, tucked away in a small courtyard, easy to find. No views to the canal but that's even better 'cause it's quiet and serene. The room was nice and cozy, private bathroom excellent. Wi-fi and breakfest very handy. After all, this is not a hotel, more like a Bed&breakfest. The staff is very good, everyone speaks english, no problems there. The interior is nice compared to other Venice hotels, little kitschy but not too much. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Miserable owner/manager. Obviously elderly & frail but could still have been friendlier. Breakfast, basic but ok.

For Venice this accommodation was reasonable because it's so expensive everywhere else but ordinarily you would not want to pay the rate for this. Room was basic but excellent air conditioning, comfy, cleans beds and a decent bathroom though only for small people!

Breakfast was extremely simple. It was served in the room because there was not a breakfast room. On the second day we were given eggs only after asking. We traveled in December and it was a bit cold in Venice, the heating system inside the room only worked up to 20degC. Setting to a higher temperature switched it off. We did not get a receipt for the city taxes. These taxes had to be paid only cash. There was not fornal invoice after our stay only a hand written piece of paper. Wifi signal was very weak on the second floor.

Breakfast was brought to our room every morning which could have been nice, but it was assembled right outside our room for all the rooms in our section- not nice being woken every morning at 07:45 by either the cappuccino steamer or clattering metal trays! Also there was no reception so we didn't know how to change our breakfast time and had to leave it as it was set on the first morning! We discovered a whole other section of the hotel when checking out which had a reception but were not informed of this when checking in!

The location was perfect. The area was low key residential but just a 5 minute stroll to Piazza Santa Margherita with it's great cafes and bars. We stayed 4 nights and no matter where we started the evening we ended up back in Piazza S. Margherita!

Stairs to get up to the property, no lift. May be an issue for people with large luggage.

Property was away from the hustle and bustle which was nice. Still close to bars and restaurants. Comfortable beds nice staff and breakfast was sufficient.

Small TV, very high up. Breakfast options were limited, but still acceptable for the price

    Venice prices but that's universal.

Location not far from the train station, not to hard to find, but well away from the main tourist trail. Its also not far from plenty of food and life.

It is combined with another hotel--entry a little confusing. Six minute walk, but first time there we managed a hour :).

It was very quiet--well hidden, although 6 minute walk from train station.

The Location, 10 min walk from the train station, and 6 min walk from S Toma Vaporetto stop, then it's a few stops to San Marco. Great affordable restaurants and cocktail bar one bridge away. Delicious breakfast right to your door. Helpful and friendly staff.

Would like tea/coffee making facilities, but with such good value for money- you can't have everything.

Short walk from Piazzale Roma-coach terminus. Quiet area but easy, interesting, picturesque walk to popular sights. Easy walk to train station for Verona and the Veneto. Plenty of eateries around and excellent food and wine as veggies we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. No probs walking back late, felt very safe. Excellent value for money. Would stay here again if we're lucky enough to come back .

Walking with heavy luggage crossing the bridges (3) was a painful experience. No water bus station nearby that can help to escape from this.

Quite accommodation and nice room decoration. The owner is friendly to give direction.
