How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewProperty is in the beautiful, quiet mountains
Unfortunately the facilities were largely not working (plumbing, coffee machine etc) and there was not a staff member to be seen in the five days of stay other than at check in when I was told the plumber was coming. The dogs on the property seem not to be fed and were hovering around my food each day which was sad. Was promised a refund but haven’t received any further communication from the accommodation. Definitely would not recommend staying here!

Verified reviewGreat location - spectacular sunset and so quiet. Deer on my doorstep when I woke up. Very homely and welcoming communal dining area and lawn area to enjoy the sunset. Friendly host. I felt at home immediately. Wish I stayed longer
Dodgy wifi - so turn off your phone and enjoy!

Verified reviewThe views were amazing. Ideal for detaching from all the hustle and bustle busy atmosphere. We managed to see wild deers which was lovely. Good communication with Hosts
The road leading to the accommodation is slightly rough but worth the view. Wifi was poor.

Verified reviewThe location is magnificent. Peaceful and quiet surrounded by the hills and mountains but, at the same time with a sea view. Little paradise, really.
breakfast is below average (packed food), the room might have been a bit cleaner but not a big deal. The access road might be challenging if you have a low sports car as I do, but for a normal car, it is ok.

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is in the middle of the nature, quiet and with great view on the Sea. The room is lovely furnished. Pepino and Ginevra are very friendly and helpful.
We did not know that there is no served breakfast anymore (small sweeties/muffins and crackers are in the room), because the pictures on booking show a breakfast buffet.

Verified reviewThe view was spectacular. The room was attractive and had a kettle, dishes, and tea bags.
The road to the property was up a very steep road that was narrow and in poor condition. I saw no one the entire time we were there. No one answered our knock, we had to search for the kitchen to place medicine in the fridge as requested well in advance. The property looked as if it had been abandoned except for an unexpected Continental breakfast we found! Wouldn't recommend it for its location and lack of staff onsite.

Verified reviewAn actual dreamland. Pretty remote high up in the mountains. So high you can almost touch the clouds. The road up to the property was very windy and not for the faint of heart but the scenery on the way was spectacular. The property itself is unbelievably gorgeous. There are a few trails to wander around with incredible views of the mountains. I feel so so so grateful to have found this place. There’s even wild deer prancing around! Make sure to bring some food for lunch and dinner! Breakfast is included but I didn’t realize they wouldn’t have dinner so I didn’t bring any food and because it was a Monday, everything in the village was closed. However, the owners are so nice and accommodating, they put together a plate with salad, bread and wine for me! My favourite stay in Sicily and one of my favourite stays ever!

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. I mean it! Best host I‘ve ever had (not only in Sicily). Thank you for your hospitality, Genevra! I hope I can come back soon to enjoy the beauty and peace of this place!
I can’t imagine that anyone doesn’t like everything about this place, seriously.

Verified reviewProlonged my stay because this place is so calm and serene. The room was spacious and super clean. Views from the property are stunning and you hear cow bells in the distance. The owners are very accomodating and gave great suggestions for hikes and places to visit. Breakfast was really good, the homemade tiramisu sooo tasty! Some reviews about the road made me hesitate to book, so: it looked a bit daunting first time but in a low gear it went very smoothly! I would just suggest to drive with daylight the first time. Thank you again, and arrivederci 🙌

Verified reviewThe property is nested in the middle of the countryside, very secluded and immersed in nature with a spectacular view over the mountains all the way till the coast. The accommodation was clean and simple but very charming and rustic and had everything that was needed. The host Peppino was exceedingly friendly and helpful, the perfect host. The breakfast was basic but complete. There was no possibility to warm up food on site, but the Osteria Casale Drinzi is quite close, and we had two fabulous dinners there.
The road to reach the property is quite challenging and mostly not paved, difficult to drive through, especially in the dark. Driving an SUV helped. Given the isolated location, it would be a good idea to add a small fridge and a microwave to the rooms. The heating and hot water had some issues, but they were fixed after we mentioned this to the host.

Verified reviewNothing.
The road to get there was a nightmare. Very dangerous and no lights at all. The breakfast was non existent. There was no wifi. No mobile reception. No heating. Toilet had rust in it. Cups in room had coffee marks in them. The reviews had nothing to do with what the real deal was because otherwise i would not have booked it. The people that were mentioned in the reviews were never seen. Only a man in his 70,s that had an excuse for everything but still everything stayed the same. We never had breakfast there as the things they had were there since forever as they were stale and rotting so obviously had to pay extra at a bar everyday for breakfast which was inconvenient as we had booked it for the included breakfast. Our holiday was partly ruined due to having to stay here. Dont go if you want a relaxing room to go back to after a long day out. I have never written such a negative review since booking with bookings but i did not want anyone to end up with what we did which was not getting what you paid for.

Verified reviewSpacious room in a serene moutanious enviroment far from civilisation. It's ideal as a base for hiking in the area (Gratteri, Pizzo Antenna, Monte dei Cervi, Piano Battaglia). Room has high ceiling and generally offers enough space. Bathroom is eclosed. Filling breakfast included. Cold dinners are available for EUR 15 including wine. I arrived there after 30+ km hike from Cefalu and felt like in paradise. It's absolutely calm and pleacefull there. I wish I had stayed there more than 1 night and did hikes from there.
Leaking shower basin, bathroom was bit dilapidated.
