To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomUnfortunately, it became apparent that it was a noisy place to stay. Not only from the outside but also in the hotel itself. We were in a room at the side of the building and we could hear the singers! (lads shouting), the boat manoeuvres and bottles being kicked around the place. And in the hotel; constant flushing of the toilet, people talking and someone was being sick at one point!
Good location. Very clean room with comfy bed and clean fluffy towels every day. Breakfast was pretty good... not a bad selection of things to eat.

AustraliaThere is no lift from the lobby to the upper floors, however, being fit and injury-free, I was able to carry all of our luggage up to the first floor where our room was.
The staff were wonderful, polite and friendly. The fact that the hotel is right on the waterfront of the Grand Canal and within metres of the Rialto Bridge is obviously a massive selling point. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide range of choices, easily the best breakfast we’d had in any of our hotels this trip.

Great location to access everything, room consistent with theme, very clean. Had to leave early and staff made us a breakfast box for travel without our requesting. So nice! Nice boutique kind of place! Staff was great- was only there briefly, but they made us welcome.

United States of AmericaThe decor of the room was too old world for me. There was no elevator so it was such a long walk thru long corridors and several flights of stairs to get to our room on the 4 th floor. Very difficult for hauling heavy luggage.
The hotel was located very close to Rialto bridge and the gondola rides and vaporetto.

We booked a room with a view of the canal but got a room with a back street view. The location shows it's age but was clean and a good size. Breakfast had good options.

IrelandThe room was smaller than expected with not enough space to open luggage comfortably which had to be placed on the floor. A luggage rack was provided but not enough space to place luggage on it. Secelction of bread for breakfast could have been better (e.g. freash baguettes) and cereal bowls were too small to take yoghurt. Only a few small bowls of muesli and cornflakes were proivided -cselection and size could have been better. Absence of lift made access to upper floors difficult for those with mobile difficulties.
Location was excellent and staff were very helpful. Coffee at breakfast was excellent.
