To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Switzerland- no curfews for starters! [To the hosts: are you completely insane? If you want to have your night rest so desperately, then start a webshop or a lunchroom - but not a B&B!] To the guests that consider a booking here: The hosts will tell you that 23:00 the door closes until the next morning. Unless you pay an extra 150 EURO they will give you no other option. So, we stayed in the room from the moment we arrived (they are located far from the city centre and taxis don`t go this far out to pick up clients). The beds were not freshly made, and the sheets felt stiff and sticky. The furniture was probably older than the total age of both hosts added together (they are both over 60). They charge ridiculous amounts of money for poorly cooked meals (which they only serve at times that they dictate, because they have their own private routine that should not be compromised). They serve an overly expensive but less than basic breakfast (with products that were not even fresh, they serve whatever they have left on storage). The fact that they let you pay every little thing upfront (the coffee, the transfer, your diner) and go frantic about it when it simply just slips your mind....I can go on & on. I have read the other reviews under this accommodation and honestly, I do not believe many of them (it just doesn`t add up). The hosts asked me NOT to write anything about the rules and the curfew if I was going to post a review. But after reading so many unrealistic reviews, I decided to make this review public. People be warned! Oh, how can I almost forget to mention that the water you shower with (at least for our room, which was situated on the ground floor whilst the other rooms were upstairs in another wing) is coming from this weird container/water tank on the roof of the villa. The water was BROWN and it looked like it was polluted by rust (I suspect that this came from this container).
I did not like anything at all to be honest. The negatives are just too overwhelming that I have not captured any positives from my stay at this horror-house. O wait, I think the half dead and almost blind house cat actually liked me. But the owners would`t let me near the poor animal.

SpainAfter I reserved (no refund allowed), I called to warn that travelling with family and kids I could arrive a few minutes past 10pm but I received a clear response that at 10pm sharp the door is closed with no exceptions. Once there, our only option to have dinner was at the house, we couldn't choose the menu, the only option was a full menu. We actually had a half menu but paid for full, also our 5yo boy who was too sleepy to end one course. Breakfast was ok, though at 9.30am the host started cleaning the table while we were having coffee (at 10am we had to move out).

ItalyOverpriced! I paid the same amount for 2 nights at a lush 4 star Hotel. Breakfast was average. Room didn't have air-conditioning even though it was advertised. Everytime we wanted to leave the property we had to ask the host to open the automatic gate.
Bathroom was very nice.
